Why is this notion being racialized when that's clearly not the issue behind the double-standard? When Magic Johnson lambasted Mike D'Antoni, that coach wasn't the main target; it was Jim Buss for making the executive decision to hire him over GOAT-candidate coach in Phil Jackson--another white coach.

As to why he's coddling Byron Scott, there is indeed bias underpinning it, but it's not racial; it's the fact that Scott has the Lakers lineage that D'Antoni never had, he was Magic's teammates, and they remain good friends to this date--which is no secret, so I'm not sure where these straw-man claims of racism are stemming from.
