Final episode of Season 2 was on the level of "Hardhome", a true epic. I recommend getting through Season 1 quick, it's ok but nothing amazing. Then Season 2 is just on another level. :cheers:

It's on Starz, their shows usually fly under the radar, Ray Donovan is another good series they got that no one talks about.

It's been great. I respect Black Sails a lot, although it definitely couldn't fully navigate between the very common pitfalls of similar tv shows. However, since it's a 'historic' thriller like that - one has to forgive because he's giving this medium to build up his own fantasies on.

One of the likeable aspects in the show is the egalitarianism between the women, men and the rest of scum of the island... That's adorable, and that's probably how it could have been. Also what's interesting is how big of a role the persuation and mind games play there. Is that because people were illiterate and more gullible back then, therefore more susceptable to words? Or are they always like that.

Another positive aspect is how realistic the characters are, talking strictly in terms of there being no clear cut superheroes. Black Sails aren't the most subtle of tv shows, so this piece of realism helps a lot.

I didn't like that now Tatch came over, but the way they played it - showing this juxtaposition between him and the usual characters. Nice. I caught it while watching, and it was nice to see Behind the Scenes cut of directors explaining the thing. They're trying, that's cool.

For me it took 3 episodes before it became good, the first episode was not that great but it became awesome quickly.

By the end of season 1, it was cool, season 2 was great, season 3 is even better than season 2 so far.

Vane didn't get many lines this season, he is still a badass though.

Flint and Silver though, almost all of their dialogue is on Game of Thrones level. That look on Silver's face after crushing that skull and saying "My name is John Silver and I have got a long ****ing memory". Perfect execution.

His evolution from Season 1 is something else. He was that slimy lying coward you wanted dead every episode, now he is the rock of his crew and a fully committed leader. He matured so much, now I actually root for him. :applause:
