4th season:

Pippen:
17.8ppg (52fg%, 30.9% from 3), 7.3rpg, 6.2apg, 2.4spg, 1.1bpg

Green:
14.4ppg (51fg%, 41.4% from 3), 9.5rpg, 7.2apg, 1.4spg, 1.3bpg

That's some extremely impressive production from Green. Already a better rebounder, facilitator, and shooter than Pippen

He's a better passing version of the late Anthony Mason (RIP). Although Mason averaged over 5 apg with the Hornets.

Was going to post the exact same thing. Pippen was also a better defender.

At least 70 percent of green's points are wide open lay ups or three point shots...Scottie was actually creating a lot of his points himself in 91.

4th season to 4th season... Yeah sorry, I don't think a single person in 1991 would say Green's "not half the scorer" of 4th year Pippen that's hyperbole.

Green is a seriously good all around player. Offensively and defensively. He's not putting up those numbers being "not even half" of anything of 4th year Pippen.

I see him as a better version Lamar Odom than a Pippen. Maybe it's because he plays PF.

They are both versatile and play a bunch of position. They could also guard multiple position. It just Odom could sometimes be inconsistent forget he was a b-ball player, lol. Green gives more effort, is a better passer, shooter, and defender.

I don't watch enough of Green to know exactly how he plays, but both Pippen and Odom were known as players that could run an offense and/or create their own shots.

Can Dray do that? Can he create his own shot? I just don't recall ever seeing him use his dribble to create something. That's a pretty large missing component.

And as for his defense vs Pippen, it's not that close, but it's also different. Pippen was used primarily on guards, and one hell of a team defender, while being able to defend the post in spot minutes. Dray is more of an interior defender (though not rim protector), and one hell of a team defender, while being able to do spot defense on the perimeter.

I've always thought Iguodala was the best recent comparison for Scottie Pippen, while Draymond would be more like... Anthony Mason? Larry Johnson? AK47?

You can't make a comparison like this without input from Madonna.

Pippen was a far better perimeter defender, but not as good as Green on the inside, not even close.
