View Full Version : Pau Gasol should sign with the Warriors
If the dubs go ahead with salary dumping Bogut, Iggy, and J Thompson in order to sign Durant they will need another center. Pau has already proven that he is willing to take a paycut in order to win. So maybe he can sign for the MLE and win at least 3 more titles.
Curry/Livingston
Klay/Barbosa
Durant/Barnes
Draygod/Looney
Gasol/Ezeli

Doesn't fit their style, he is too slow at this point. Even though he is more skilled, he would fill the David Lee role from last year.

I think you under estimate how much bogut means to this team...pau would fail in that role...he was essentially in that role back in his Memphis days and he failed miserably.....pau has never been and never will be a GREAT rim protector. SORRY

Pau did not fail in Memphis. He carried that team much further than that roster should have been able to go. It is just short of a miracle that he was able to drag them to the playoffs.
Still, a bad fit for the Warriors' gameplan.

Spurs should signed Pau last year, giving him 3 year + team option 4th year for a discount is way better for signing LMA for 4 year max and waited one year for Spurs. If Spurs signed Pau last year, it'd be a win-win for both parties.
80% Pau still > Prime LMA when it comes to building a championship team.

born and raised in Memphis and watched every game
didn't say he failed....I saud he failed in that ROLE.....the role? BEING A RIM PROTECTOR...offensively he was a BEAST.
also whats roster do you speak????Memphis had gOOD rosters back then...mike miller, battier,j will, bonzi wells. not title contending but they were another superstar away from being GREAT.

Why would the Warriors blow up to get KD if they get 70 W and the chip?
Bogut and Iggy bring a lot to this team.

Bogut and Iggy will be 32 next season and have expiring contracts. Bogut also has an extensive injury history. Durant will only be 28 next season. It's about extending the championship window. Father time is undefeated.

Why the hell would the Warriors wanna screw up their team and chemistry JUST to get Durant?

I'll just keep copy and pasting this: Bogut and Iggy will be 32 next season and have expiring contracts. Bogut also has an extensive injury history. Durant will only be 28 next season. It's about extending the championship window. Father time is undefeated.

Lebron didn't just get good players, he decided to sign with a team with two all-stars, as a free agent, in his prime, TWICE.
Curry didn't put pressure on the management or tried to get his coach fired. Of course the Warriors' management should do everything in their power to make the team better. That's literally their only job.

He would work just find with the team on offense given he is a good passer and can score, but the Warriors defense would regress. Bogut is one of the league's best rim protectors, he is one of the reasons why that defense is so good. Swap Bogut for Gasol & the Warriors defense might not be top 10.

They would get much worse. Paus stats overrate his impact big time dude is Boozer level on defense these days and his offense wouldnt help all that much they dont need him with the style they play

I'll pass. The Warriors are literally the best they've ever been right now, there's no need to break up the core until they stop contending seiously:coleman:

because they dont need more offense Steph/Klay handle that
Bogut/IGGY is Defense
Draymond All around
the only person I can see them letting go would be Harrison Barnes and Barbosa
Iggy possibly if they keep Barnes
