Nobody.

Wilt > everybody

But Vandeweight and English came real close (98 points).

Kobe & Smush had 94 once.

I just did a quick search, ...on 1/13/1962, Wilt and Arizin combined for 99 points (Arizin with 26, and Wilt with 73.)

Maybe I can find something...

Kobe scored 81 and get this

his team wasn't fouling the other team to stop the clock so he could pad his scoring like Wit's team was

Warriors were up 20 points going into the 4th and Wilt had 69..

and he kept padding his stats

They fouled us unnecessarily in the second half, so they can get the ball back offensively – more than the normal way it should be played,” Guerin said. “Why would you deliberately go out and foul somebody in the backcourt – or wherever – if you lead by 15 points, if you aren’t trying to accomplish something? I didn’t take it very nicely at all.

They were force feeding Kobe in his 81. They force fed Robinson in his 71.

There's no such thing as a 70+ point performance that is genuinely within the flow of a teams offensive pattern save for maybe Wilt's triple OT 78 point game. All of them are fueled artificially by their teammates feeding the star and taking precautions to make sure they get in scoring position and not themselves.

Also, the Knicks were trying to foul every player except Wilt before Wilt got fed the ball so that every Warriors possession was wasted on the guards/forwards being sent to the line, putting the ball back into the Knicks players hands after the free throws. That's called total desperation and that's as low if not lower of a strategy as Warriors players fouling the Knicks players.

How about the Knicks' strategy in that 4th quarter, and down by 20 points?

With six minutes remaining, the Knicks began intentionally fouling any Warrior except Chamberlain, keeping the ball out of the center's hands.[21][50][51] New York also began moving the ball slowly and using as much of the shot clock as possible to leave fewer opportunities for Chamberlain to score.[52] Effectively, they played the opposite of what a normal club would do if they faced a deficit, willingly giving up many easy points instead of making attempts to rally back

Honestly Wilt's 100 point game sounds like such a sh^tty game to have watched

TheMarkMadsen

They were force feeding Kobe in his 81.
.

shows you know nothing about that game

Lakers were down double digits going into the half, they needed Kobe to keep scoring if they were even going to have a chance.

meanwhile Wilt's team was blowing the Knicks out-who were missing their starting center- and they still wouldn't take Wilt out, kept force feeding him the ball and fouling the opposing team to stop the clock.

Charlie Villanueva on Kobe's 81 point game

What’s so ironic is that — as late as the third quarter — we were genuinely thinking to ourselves that we’d executed a really good plan. That’s something a lot of people tend to forget about that night: that we were winning — pretty comfortably, and pretty deep into the game. Kobe had 26 at halftime … and we were up by 14. This is great, we were thinking. You never want to give up 50, of course. But if that’s what it was going to take to beat this particular team on this particular night, then 50 was fine by us.

And that’s exactly what happened. Kobe did score 50 on us — 55, to be precise.

In the second half.

How about the Knicks' strategy in that 4th quarter, and down by 20 points?

so your way of legitimizing the game is to try to show that the Knicks were letting Wilt score and not even trying to play defense?

You must have a reading comprehension problem, my friend. The Knicks strategy was to slow the game down, and to foul anyone but Wilt...all while trailing throughout the 4th quarter by double-digits.

They did all they could to KEEP Chamberlain from scoring, even giving up the game.

BTW, Chamberlain had games of 73 on 43 FGAs; 70 on 38; 68 points on 40; 67 on 37; and 66 on 35.

I read somewhere from a player on the raptors that earlier in the season they focused on Kobe and he tore them apart assisting the ball..Their game plan that game? Shut everyone else down but Kobe, and force him to beat them by himself. They were waiting for him to start missing, and after the half the strategy was working if I'm not mistaken...But obviously, Mamba pulled through and bit them in the ass for it

I was wrong. But in the game I was thinking of English and Kiki combined for 98.

I knew 4 people scored 40 that game but Tripuka wasnt one of them. Isiah and John Long combined for 88.

Wilt had one big advantage:

In his era guys like Javale McGee would probably average 40 ppg. Cause that era was weak and full of midgets.

The game was horrible and done in poor taste and poor sportsmanship, all for trying to force one player to score 100. If social media was around those days, it would be mocked for days on end. But good thing they didn't televise it LOL.

Your'e insane those fans stormed the court in cheer for Wilt - who accomplished something no other player has ever done in NBA basketball and twitter and social media would be going NUTS at the relentless unstoppable force that was Wilt during that performance DESPITE knicks players trying to foul anyone on the Warriors who touched the ball before it even got to Wilt.

Everyone and their mother would pay a **** ton of money and their left nut to see the 100 point game that's literally basketball's Everest performance.
