Do you really think the NBA doesn't make a shit load of money in China? People pay for TV there too. The most watched NBA game in history was the first time Yao played Yi Jianlin. I met both Chris Paul and Ron Artest in China randomly because they were there in the offseason raking in $$$.

If NBA ball became super profitable in Israel, we'd have chanukah celebrations. That's how business works.

That helps the argument as for why they'd do it, according to that Sacremento have one of the stronger Asian fanbases. Especially considering right now they're the fourth biggest California team trying to cultivate that fanbase makes sense. But given the connotations I think Cousins was smart to save the Kings a from a potential PR blowup
