They are definitely more in sync when butler isnt out there.

That's pretty typical when a star player goes down.
Star player generally means more isolations, set plays for that individual, etc.
No star player generally means the best option is the open option. And to get open, players must move themselves, and the ball, more easily and frequently.
Similarly, that's why a lot of teams see more success when their star player goes down.. initially. Because everyone's sharing, having a great time, feeling included... but when push comes to shove, it's not always sustainable because that team lacks... star power.
