but it seems like the japanese are still delusional about a lot of stuff that happened around WWII. for example their parliament still won't admit that they forced a bunch of girls (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comfort_women) to be sex slaves for their troops, they tend to conveniently forget their sneak attack on pearl harbor, and many tend to blame the US for the outrage of dropping atomic bombs on them, even though their military pretty much did everything in their power to cause that to happen.

That region does tend to have better people and better culture.

Not hard to fathom when the parents and grandparents of the current Iranians enjoyed the fruitful culture of pre 1979 Iran and passed on that happiness to their kids.
