If the standard is set at Kevin Love and James Harden, there is no reason why Rose shouldnt be on there
He has accomplished something only 30 players have accomplished in the entirety of pro basketball, not even post merger, that number is smaller...

however you feel about his MVP season, the fact remains he won it under the same criteria of every other MVP in the history of the game.

and the voting wasnt close, he got 113 of the 121 1st place votes.... from all the writers and media members who you read every day

Wasn't Wall a rookie during that """""mvp"""""" season?

Rose was rookie of the year and had an awesome 2nd year... the 3rd is just the peak.. it was a steady incline

He's more healthy. And last season he put up better stats than 2011 Derrick Rose in the playoffs.

Love has no business being in the top 100.

thankyou for putting in a good word for D Rose. although popular consensus would believe different.

lmao @ love being in the top 100, is this some kind of sick joke???

And yes, Rose definitely belongs in there. Its very hard not to get peak abilities and career accolades mixed up albeit they both are usually taken into consideration when ranking a player. In rose's case he definitely has the peak ability, just an athletic freak with a lot of skill when it came to breaking down defenses with his drives to the basket. And he has the accolades.

However its also hard to acknowledge him considering his game these days is just woeful. Takes too many 3's, usually has poor fg% and still thinks hes the best player in the league. Total headcase.

Love has played three or so career playoff games and is top 100.

Let that sink in.

Rose is the youngest MVP ever. And has been in the playoffs every year of his career. Most points ever scored by a rookie in his playoff debut (tied with KAJ)

didn't really look at the list thoroughly...how do the fck did they leave Rose off and let Love in?

2009 - rookie season and was part of the GOAT 1st round match up.
2010 - another playoff appearance
2011 - 62 win #1 seed, MVP season.
2012* - lead the Bulls to another #1 seed before his injury in Game 1 of the 1st Round.
*50-game lockout season. Rose played 39/50.

The **** :biggums:? LeBron was smack dab in the middle of winning 4 MVP's in that span. He had a WOAT Finals performance, but dude was obviously still in his peak

Nahh.

Grant Hill actually played for like 8 injury free seasons before his injury. And he was only number 80 on their list.

Peak Penny was a consensus for First Team All-NBA over Gary Payton and John Stockton both years, and was the only player to knock MJ out of the playoffs. And he isn't even on their list at all.

So, no, Rose's 3 healthy years where he was not that amazing anyway (he was weak defensively even at his peak, and never had playoff success) does not put him into the top 100 players of all time.

He is a decent rebounder, but in terms of scoring most players in the league could score that much if they were given the green light as much as love was.

LeBron had 2 MVP and was 25 at the start of the 2010-2011 season. Nowhere near his peak? :confusedshrug:

Kobe was still an elite player in 2011, but time obviously had caught up with him in his 15th season.
