Just booked a trip to Mex for April and now I'm hearing people have recently been cancelling their trips due reported cases of Zika. The exact same thing happened to me when the swine flu broke out in 2010 I believe.

I know, I know... First world probs

Annoying af though...

Zika and Swine Flu lol. AKA a small fever.

These 'epidemics' are the kinds of things peoples imaginations run away with so news stories promote them to headline shit every time there's a lil outbreak.

Swine Flu, SARS, Bird Flu, West Nile, Zika... These shits are nothing. Not worth anyone's attention. Basically just media propaganda.

I pretty well possess the same outlook as you. It's hard trying to convince a bunch of girls and friends who are predisposed to believing everything the government spews at them though.

It aint easy being tapped outta the matrix my friend. It's liberating, yes. But aint easy.

Can't wait man. It's been a while since I got away. Did Vegas a year and a bit ago but that was a total shit show. Not exactly a relaxing destination to say the least.

Yeah I'd much rather a beach than Vegas. What are you planning on doing? The dollar has been pretty high as well so that will work in your favor.

I reside in Toronto where our dollar has been plummeting like a toxic stock so that sadly doesn't apply. We were thinking about waiting it out in hopes of the dollar gaining some value back but for various reasons, we chose to book and get it out of the way.

I'm reaching with a bunch of friends but this is also the first vacation for me and my lady so it's gunna take on a whole new dynamic. Gone are the days of scooping up and banging a fellow tourist from Europe/Canada that i'll never see again lol

My week is gunna look like this:

-A whole bunch of beach laying
-Drinks, drinks, and more drinks
-Will likely do some nightlife, seeing as how we're travelling with some singles
-There's a cool zip lining excursion that my best friend did with his girl a few years back. It's voted as one of the best in North America, so we'll probably conquer that

But mainly a whole bunch of laying and nothingness. Exactly as planned.

Sounds like a chill vacation. I myself am brown(mexican) so I don't do much beach laying. But i can relate to the drinking haha. Have fun!

Dunno all the details but I know a lot of wildlife feed on their larvae. I think a lot of fish/reptiles/birds would suffer but then again maybe another type of insect would take their niche. I think only a handful of mosquito species bite humans too so if you could target those might be even less of an effect.

The only disease that threatens man, is if/when the flu mutates into a more deadly strand.
