I think the Heat got rocked last time they went to Charlotte, however the Heat are playing much better now and the Hornets seem to be getting worse as the season wears on. I expect a close Heat victory with a big game from Kemba

Go Heat!

But I'm not happy with Spoelstra not starting Whiteside. Continuity? So he would go with continuing to be mediocre?

Whiteside basically shoots whenever he gets it. That's a problem... But also guys other than Wade need to learn how to get it to him in the right spots.

WadeStan

Green needs to stop contorting his body on those layups and just take the contact.

Exactly. Whiteside put up triple double off the bench in 25 minutes. Team +8 while he was one the floor. Not bad for a guy who the coach doesn't want to play because the coach want to keep starting Amare to not hurt the team continuity.

I blame Spoelstra for this loss.

you know, offensively, wade is moderately clutch. he's hit some big clutch shots on the biggest stages, but overall throughout his career, his clutchness is off and on.

but defensively, in the clutch, there's no one better.... bar none....in nba history.

nice win for miami to end this crazy stretch of road games. eric reid mentioned how they are a better team now than they were when they started and i strongly agree. a few weeks ago wade and bosh were taking turns missing clutch shots. now they're taking turns making them. for a while there i had that sinking feeling similar to the downward spiral they went through last year to play themselves out of the playoffs. glad they got their *hit together.

i think tonights game was a pivotal moment. an end to a chapter of the season. one that would determine how the rest of the season goes. now it looks like they're a solid team ready to make some noise in the second half of the season and into the playoffs. that is, of course, if they can stay healthy.

We need shooting to really make some noise. Hopefully Riley can work some magic.

The roadtrip is over, but the Heat still have the toughest February schedule in the NBA (opponent records/away games vs home)

I still think we're going to see some up and down periods. Pretty much every opponent on every night will have the 3pt shooting advantage, and that makes things that much more difficult. You say make a trade, well who is available? I've heard Ryan Anderson (more as a FA) but half the league wants him, and Rudy Gay, who is redundant with Gerald Green already on the team

4 Out of the next 5 at home. Clippers, Spurs, Pacers and Wizards at home.
Hawks away.

Really tough schedule, however this Heat team is slowly getting its health back, and playing some good basketball.

Optimistically I see them going 4-1, losing vs San Antonio.
Realistically I see 3-2, losing vs San Antonio and either LAC\Atlanta

4-1 would be ideal that would mean a 33-23 record heading into the last 26 games of the season

If health stays good I can see the Heat finishing somewhere around 47-50 wins.

The Heat have won 5 of their last 6 on the road and 6 of 7 overall. GREAT way to end a brutal stretch. As has been mentioned, they still have a tough schedule ahead, but they overcame a lot of adversity the last month. For all the talk about their early home-friendly schedule, they've now played more games on the road and are sitting 1/2 game out of 3rd in the east. I'll take it.

Yes. We only need the 4th Seed for HCA and we could finish 3rd.

Yes. We only need the 4th Seed for HCA and we could finish 3rd.

I've been thinking about potential seeding. The 3rd seed would avoid Cleveland until the ECF. Conventional wisdom says that's a good thing, however if you have to go through Cleveland either way, it might be better to get them earlier in the playoffs. I still think I'd rather have the higher seed, but it's something to consider.
