They have the exact same amount of finals MVPs.

Think about that. QUADRUPLE the amount, in 8 less years. It's an absolute rout.

Kobe:
20 years
1 MVP
2 FMVP

Lebron:
12 years
4 MVP
2 FMVP

It's good to be top 10 :pimp:

Kobe averages one FMVP every 10 years and an MVP every 20.

Lebron averages a FMVP every 6 years and a MVP every 3.

well, that is to be expected, after all one is a top 10 player while the other isn't.

Moses has 3 times the MVPs that Shaq does.

They played in different eras so it's not a natural comparison.

Lebron and Kobe are contemporaries in the post-Jordan era. We can compare them much more effectively. Lebron DOMINATED his era, Kobe was missing the second round three years in a row when Shaq left and earned 1 MVP in 20 years.

I was surprised that ESPN showed love to Moses. He and Havlicek are both top 20 All Time players who are routinely forgotten. Hondo got shafted in the ranking. Listed lower than the likes of Durant and Pippen. :facepalm

Iverson won the MVP over peak Shaq

Who cares, Lebron won't even make it to playing 20 years in the league, his athleticism is already declining fast. You see him struggling to get up the court and botch that easy dunk :hammerhead:

So true.

Same can be said of the difference between the east and west during this era.

Bron has played/will continue to play in a great era in sports medicine. Even Bean's career wouldn't have lasted as long had he entered the league in say '83. Without the advancements in surgical procedures, German blood doping, etc it's questionable if he would've been able to last as long as he has without those advantages.

Some of the injuries that in the past used to be career enders like torn achilles tendons and broken kneecaps are manageable and fixable now.

True, but then Bird would have to be ranked higher than Magic who made 9 Finals playing in the shitty 80s West. :confusedshrug:

Agreed. Guys like Moses, D-Rob, Kidd, Havlicek etc. typically get shafted bc the average fan gives extra weight to iconic figures rather than guys who quietly get the job done consistently. In truth I'd take all those guys over Bean, and I'm not even trolling. I genuinely consider Kobe to be more like AI and Tmac, whose games are more viewer-friendly than they are really impactful. Kobe just had far luckier circumstances. On the Milwaukee Bucks he'd have never made a finals.

Bron has played 8 less years so far though.

Kobe played 20 years and couldn't even get as many rings as Robert Horry :lol

96? 03? Isn't that just 7 years.

And then you gotta figure KB only played a handful of games last year. Now you got 6 years really. And KB was drafted when HSers were not expected to do anything. So make it 5. Then LeBron enters in a no handchecking era guided to produce high per game stats for perimeter players.

What a TIME.
