As of now it appears that he is a consensus top 10-15 player. With curry, durant, and other young players creeping up on him - how long will he be able to cling to that top 15 spot?

In a decade, Kobe's legacy will be a lot like OP's love life.... long forgotten and abandoned

I would not go so far. You have Curry and KD as top candidates...but then?
DMC, Griffin, Anthony Davis are (right now) not able to be top 15 players or better.
so, no.

Probably 14. If Curry keeps playing the way he's playing, and Durant keeps surpassing all the youngest to do this and that records that Lebron also surpassed.

nice try :facepalm

I feel that with this roster curry will definitely surpass him in terms of career accolades and that kd still has a shot if he lands on a good team. From there who knows if one of these prospects blows up the way curry did last year. My money would be on KAT, fairly safe bet with that level of talent.

Based on the amount of posts made about a past his prime 37 year old man in his 20th season by non-Laker/Kobe fans, I would say he'll be somewhere in the Top 2-3 all time.

Depends on the perspective.

I have him at 13 right now. Curry and Durant can pass him.

Not sure about anyone else currently playing. Anthony Davis is going backwards. Wiggins looks good. Towns looks good. Maybe one of them, or both. They might turn into the next Kobe and Shaq.

OP called it like an OG. Kobe's fading fast.

If Curry gets 1 more ring he will have pretty crazy similarities with Kobe. 2 rings with another Alpha while still significantly contributing, and then 3 where he was the best or arguably best player. That said, not many people get up to 5 rings so I think Kobe's safe for a while

Kobe had one sidekick ring.

He had two rings where he was a co-alpha but still closer to sidekick status, like Curry.

Where do you get the three titles as the main guy for Kobe?

I mean, if Steph wins another one with finals MVP, let alone another MVP, his résumé is greater. He ultimately was more unique and had more profound impact on the game and on his own franchise.

Because if we’re being really honest, those golden state teams could’ve very easily won the title without Kevin Durant. That’s why people thought it was so cowardly, it was unnecessary, it was negligible. And no one, not even KD in his heart, takes them that seriously. They had already been to two straight finals and set regular season win records without KD.

If he gets a third ring as alpha, like 2015, and this year? He’s the third greatest guard of all time.
