Nevertheless, one cannot be 87% white as "white" is a social construct and a color. Just like one can't be 87% brown or black.. It's literally just a color.

However, you can be 87% European origin which gets further broken down until subgroups like Southern European(Which can be be further broken down into more specific regions like Balkans, Iberian, etc), Scandinavian, Ashkenazi, etc. As you can see there's alot of variance. Just because your 87% "white" doesn't mean you'll be a pasty ginger. It can mean you have typical Mediterranean features(olive skin, dark hair, etc) and what not.

As for Jessica Alba, if her results are true(Which I son't think Lopez show have any credibility), the majority of her ancestry will probably come from Southern Europe(Iberia aka Spain) and that's not surprising as she can obviously pass for Spanish.

Nevertheless, one cannot be 87% white as "white" is a social construct and a color. Just like one can't be 87% brown or black.. It's literally just a color.

However, you can be 87% European origin which gets further broken down until subgroups like Southern European(Which can be be further broken down into more specific regions like Balkans, Iberian, etc), Scandinavian, Ashkenazi, etc. As you can see there's alot of variance. Just because your 87% "white" doesn't mean you'll be a pasty ginger. It can mean you have typical Mediterranean features(olive skin, dark hair, etc) and what not.



So did you even watch the video? Because it isn't listed as white/black/red/yellow, the categories are East Asian, European (White), Native American, and Sub Saharan African (Black).

Remember, this is kind of like a late night talk show, so this is more for entertainment than it is for specific information on where EXACTLY she is from. Generalizing into those 4 groups for the sake of a DNA test on a talk show is really not that big of a deal.
