Serious question. I was watching the Spurs @ Heat game and David Aldridge is talking to Pay Riley about retiring Shaq's number and Riley said Shaq made the decision a long time ago with his play to retire #32.

LeBron played more years in Miami than Shaq, helped take them to the Finals all 4 years he was there and won two of them.

You think Riley is sore about LeBron leaving and the way he went about it and won't retire it?

No way they don't, Shaq and Riley were at eachother' throats when LeBron left yet they are going to retire Shaq's jersey. LeBron spent more time in Miami than Shaq, won more titles, won more games, and even won 2 MVP's while there. It's a no brainer

If Shaq's number is retired in Miami then I have no doubt LeBron's would be too

Zero chance that they don't. Best player the franchise has seen, two mvps + fmvps + chips, and a dominant four-year run. No-brainer.

Considering Riley said this about Shaq:

“He took us to another level as a basketball franchise while leading us to our first NBA championship.

LeBron led Miami to the Finals all 4yrs....just wasn't givin' the reigns in the 2011 Finals and it backfired.

Of course his #6 should get retired if Riley looks at Shaq that way.

The Miami Heat will have a surprising number of retired numbers in the rafters within a few years for such a young franchise.

Exactly this. They might as well just retire the jerseys of everyone who made the All Star team this year. It's gonna happen eventually anyway. Then their team can use symbols instead of numbers since they are all retired.

They shouldn't retire Shaq's and they shouldn't retire Lebron's.
They need to unretire Jordan and fix that error.
They shouldn't have retired Hardaway's but can't really undo that.

Mourning should be retired so that is correct.
They should retire Wade and Haslem in a few seasons.
If Bosh plays another few years here they can retire him as well.

Yes. They will. They retired Bosh jersey. And lebron and riley repaired their relationship.

Heat are pathetic for retiring the #23 of the team when baldan has never even played in their uniform

No. They don't like the way he left and he burned bridges with Pat Riley. It will never happen.
