Defense wins championships, and '08 Celtics had one of the best of All-time. They wouldn't stop Curry, just limit his efficiency and shut down teammates. While who on the Wars would stop KG, Pierce and Ray?

Um.... The Warriors also has one of the better defenses in the league?

Green would do a good job on KG, Iggy/Barnes/Klay on Ray or Pierce?

Rondo-Curry
Allen-Klay
Pierce-Barnes
KG-Dray
Perk-Bogut

On paper, I got the Warriors. In real life, I got the Warriors, but it won't be easy. If Tony Allen or Rondo could shoot 3s, I would say Celtics>

Neither club would win it easily; it would be a war.

Rondo couldn't hope to defend Curry off the dribble.
Thompson and Livingston wouldn't be able to chase Ray around. Nobody could that year.
Iggy and Barnes would give Pierce fits.
KG was in the last year of his prime that year; I think he beats Green.
Perk would be Perk. He was the Dwight Stopper that year; Ezeli and Bogut don't worry me against him.

Benches would probably play to a draw.

Toss a coin I guess.

Boston has the roster to slow that Warriors team down though, Tony Allen and Rondo would make it hard for Steph to get any easy looks and KG would school Green, Pierce was a hell of a closer as well. It's closer than a lot of people think IMO.

yeah, that's one thing GSW got on the C's. A 3-point shot in addition to their great D. Both solid D but GSW got shooters.

And the 3-point game have been key to the last 5 Finals starting with the 2011 Mavs.

Ray would destroy anyone who was attempting to chase him off screens, but so would Curry lol. Ill go Warriors in 7.

I want to say C's in 7, but I feel Curry is just too dangerous against Boston. I think if Iggy can stop Pierce, that would be the biggest key for GS to win. Like others have said, could go either way. One of the closer fantasy series that people bring up.

Bump

This fantasy series needs to looked at again after seeing the success OKC had in utilizing their size to disrupt GS' offensive flow. The Celtics interior D was one of the best ever. This would allow Pierce and Tony Allen to play tighter on the perimeter.

What's weird to me is how much tougher it was to eliminate James back then. He would just attack all game long and pushed the 2008 Celtics to 7 games. He was a better athlete then but IMO he was also more competitive. 2008 vs. the Cs I believe he averaged 30 over the series and maybe one other Cav was double-digits, But still he takes them 7 games. That's the guy that gave Detroit 28 straight. The current James is a great player but he thinks about the odds of victory too much and when the odds are bad it gets him down. That's why he is so involved in the building of his team's roster. He's playing with more talent but without that relentless attacking mode that he went into when he was younger he's not as good individually.
Rondo couldn't hope to defend Curry off the dribble.
No one is shutting down Curry but young Rondo supported by the Celtic defense is as good as it's going to get. If these Cavs can defend him then those Cs could too.

With that said...73 wins is tough to argue with.
