View Full Version : McGrady: 'No doubt' Kobe best player I've faced, including MJ

Seems redundant to add MJ cause T-Mac came into the league in what 97-98? So he didn't face full on MJ, but still.

His prime was '01-'08, obviously Kobe would have been better than Wizards Jordan and pre-MVP LeBron

He obviously means guys HE faced individually in matchups as a SG. So not talking about Top 10 players like Shaq, Duncan, Lebron etc

THIS...

Those were great days. Kobe vs Tmac made for a great evening of basketball. Kobe had mentality that Tmac never had. I also believe Kobe was a bit more talented as far as skills. Tmac was longer and had more range but never that competitive spirit that Kobe had. Still some great battles. Durant is pretty much A BETTER TMAC IMO....

TRUE... But I don't recall Tmac and Lebron facing off much when Lebron was at his best. I may be wrong..

Skipping through they look to be guarding each other a fair bit, granted as you said it's not LeBron at his best

"Including MJ" why did he add that at the end? MJ was a shell of himself. Tmac kobestan confirmed.

I saw the entire interview while getting ready for work this morning. Even in this clip he stated that he truly only faced MJ when MJ was past his prime and at the end of his career, but he faced Kobe in his prime. T-Mac also jokingly said in another part of the interview that he was still upset that the NBA allowed a Kwame for Gasol trade. He said that he wished he could have been fortunate to have benefited from a trade like that.
