Don't think he is scared of losing. I think he is scared of looking bad when he can't complete a complicated dunk. Kemp, Wilkins, etc etc all lost in the dunk competition and nothing get taken away from them from those losses.

He's not in it because he doesn't have self-confidence in his abilities, he's naturally timid, and doesn't like being the center of attention because he's uglier than shit

LeBron's been the number 1 athlete on the planet for a long time. His reasons not to be in it are totally different. The contest has been a joke for a while and he didn't wanna lower himself to that arena. A guy like Wiggins who will never be a top 10 player has no excuse not to be in the contest... if anything he should be forced to do it.

This year might be a resurgence for the contest but up till Saturday the dunk contest had been wack for about 14 years (since Vince anyways, and it was wack before that too going back to MJ).

It is full of young bench fodder hoping to do something special to get a shoe deal and a bit of love.

Wiggins is the ROY, it is fair to say he is above it, also, this is Zach's thing, they are friends, its kind of a dlck move to take this from him when Wiggins gets so much other attention.

Also, Wiggins is more of a game dunker, athletic and less creative that Zach or even Gordon (who should have won).
