Shaq alone was man handling Duncan and RObinson as a duo. Dirk isn't going to help bang down low so Duncan would be fouled out right away.

How is he not?

Dirk was leading his teams to the playoff every year and putting up 27/12, 25/12 and 28/8 in deep playoff runs that either resulted in getting to the finals or just missing them.

He seemed to me to be the more impactful and better player at his best. Garnett just wasn't anywhere near as reliable as Nowitzki on offense. I don't think his offensive game was anywhere near expansive enough to be the teams first option scorer.
