During his TNT interview earlier this week, Carter stated he was jumping higher in high school than he was in the NBA.

That was tough for me to reconcile, because his dunking seemed to hit another level once he hit the league. But maybe that was just him developing his style as opposed to his hops.

He did also say that he was in the jumping zone for the dunk contest in 2000, so that was probably close to peak jumping Vince too. He said he was so amped after his first dunk that he felt like he could have bounced right back up and windmilled again on the recoil (when you see him hopping as he comes down from that opening 360).

I think the bold makes a lot of sense. Awesome what he said in your bottom paragraph.
