I will admit it. I had him pegged for 3rd best in the league this year. Wow, was I off. I hope he can turn it back on, but the pelicans seem to be going nowhere.

TBH Tyreke's absence has been hurting him and the team a lot, as great as he is, he needs another scoring option to keep the defense at bay. Without a scorer and play maker like Tyreke, defense can just focus on him, but the fact that he can't pass out of double teams and find other players is on him.

wouldnt pay to much attention to it tbh. if you look closely, nearly every great player had 1 or 2 seasons where he regressed just to come back better the next year.

still driopping 23.4 ppg/ 10 reb/2.2 blocks on 50/30/73 with 25 PER.

What is there for him to play for at this point? I'm guessing he is going through the motions given the team is going no where this year. Once on a good team, he will be motivated and look like his old self.

He's got so much scary potential. As a regular guy he's a top 15 player.

Has potential to be top 2.

The guy needs coaching. Gentry is not using him right. I'd venture giving him a leadership PG player will do wonders. He's only 21.

To summarize the thread: Only the OP lacks a basic understanding of any of the several reasons this is occurring and why it isn't that important.

He's a player that needs others to make him better. He needs a decent play maker since he can't create his own shot. He just needs a decent team. Plus the run and gun style they played this season doesn't cater to him. He's a very very good player but has gaping holes in his game.

Bad coach, bad team, bad management.

He over did the muscle thing and lost his fluidity. He's desiccated and will get back on his game. Just has to learn his body. I remember when Kobe did the same thing. Its hard being that young and having a lot of expectations. But he will make his big leap next year.

Technically he still is down in every statistical category. Well, except 3pt %. But, I mean.. .083 on .2 attempts vs .291 on 1.6 attempts. You tell me which you would rather have. And his turnovers and fouls are up. But that's a negative.
