View Full Version : Will you still watch the NBA if Durant does go to Warriors?

Assuming it doesn't hurt their team chemistry, what you basically have is:

On the occasion when Curry is off, Durant can pick up the slack, and on the rare occasion when they're both cold, Dray & Klay can take over. And then there's the other side of the coin when they're all clicking together, and they're winning by 40.

So that leaves like what, maybe two losses on the season?

Do you want to watch an 80 win team make a mockery of the league? Win 45 games in a row? Sweep the playoffs?

Maybe several other super teams form in response. So you have like four great teams, and a bunch of crappy teams that might as well go Philly tank mode for the next several seasons.

Trade would get vetoed.

Edit: I don't think that KD would do this either. He wants to beat them.

It's a free agent signing.

I'd like it if KD goes there and Spurs creates their big man line up.

PG: Lebron/Parker
SG: Barnes/Green
SF: Kawhi/Batum/Manu
PF: Aldridge/Ryan Anderson
C: Pau/Horford

Skip the season and lets go straight to the conference finals.

The Warriors would be the new villains. It would be the Miami nWo all over again. Make no mistake, the league would love this (they are all about storylines) and the fans would eat it up for the same reason.

Why would anybody stop watching? You could either root for history, or root against colluding. Fun for everybody.

True. Don't think KD would do it tho. Doesn't seem like the type. Especially with how loyal he's been to Oklahoma.

Don't think he's suited for rising/big market teams.

It's fun until you see the Warriors beat everyone by 20 for 30 straight games, and no playoff series goes more than five games.

And then the super teams start forming in response, leaving the rest of the teams in the gutter, which would be quite a few.

So either you get:

A. No real competition. It's a foregone conclusion GS will be winning the title and dominating everybody.

B. Other super teams, in which case you're going to have a bunch of sucky teams.

The big exception to all that is Miami didn't break records and they still had competition for the title. It was possible they would get beat in the playoffs, as happened two out of four times.

If Durant does sign, they might as well do the not 2, not 3, not 4 .... because that team might actually come close to pulling it off.

Sounds awesome.

Can the league contract some of the sorrier franchises?

Yeah it would be some Golden Globetrotters stuff every third and fourth quarter. Curry would be spinning the ball on his butt in the middle of the third quarters. The Rubber band man song would play at the end of the first half when Durant leaves the game. Draymond would host a halftime celebrity show. Klay and Curry playing horse at the end of shot clocks.

I hope not!!!

Don't worry he'll find a way to blame LeBron.

Nah, just fast forward to the playoffs :lol

There are a few non-Knick games I wanna see. Obviously wanna see the big matchups but after the garbage regular season 73 win team last season got exposed, does anyone put any importance on it anymore?

Regular season is still very important. No one told ZVC to impersonate LeBron in the 2011 finals.
