The problem with message boards (or social media sites) is with written words things often gets lost in translation. We lose things like tone, connotation, body language, and so on. I myself have lately been described as arrogant and combative even when I have never intended to be nor did I mean it in those ways. There is a slight disconnect.

So let's say instead of ISH messageboard Jeff created a members only bar for the ISH community. We can all go in there magically as easily as we log on. Would the conversations be any different? Who would be in character? Who do you believe would change his whole tone and approach? How would the community be in general?

Im pretty sure I would still make fun of nathangotjizzed and call people ******s. For some reason Americans think my accent funny so anything I say tends to be taken as a joke :lol

I dont think there is a "problem" with message boards at all, I think its beautiful that places like ISH can exist where we are nothing more than anonymous text on a screen, and our thoughts can be judged strictly by their merit rather than things like physical appearance or body language. Sure real life interactions are nice too, if I want one of those I can just log off and go outside...

For long time posters like myself, it would be a very surreal moment if suddenly all long time ISH posters were in the same room together. That would be very weird.

None of us probably look or act or sound exactly how we all imagine, even those that post pics of themselves in here.

Simon would be shriveled up in the corner like a microwaved hot-dog.

I like 98% of the posters here, even the ones who I don't see eye to eye with. There's about 2% that ruin it, but they've been placed on ignore so now its become much more enjoyable.

I agree and feel the same way. To add to that... I see a lot of people face to face in real life at social functions or at work. It's good to have a places like ISH. I don't care much about being judged, but I find value in places where I can talk whatever I want, positive or negative, and there will always be a multitude of viewpoints that will agree and disagree or add in other ways to the conversation. I also love how a lot of posters reside in countries and cities thousands of miles away from me. Great to see their perspectives too.

The more interesting characters here (trolls) would be a sight to behold.

Would they though?

I imagine most of them would just sit there awkwardly avoid eye contact.

I dunno, a few years back I'd agree because at least the trolls then seemed to believe what they said and weren't just doing it purely for a lazy reaction. Now we've probably got ~10 people who have multiple alts and make threads purely to get a reaction out of people and push an agenda over and over. Not entertaining any more, the old trolls at least made you laugh even if you thought they were saying something insane.

I'd definitely push Douchewallace around if we met in person. Someone that miserable needs a good gut punch or two.

Believe it or not, I'm actually more racist in real life than the Internet and say more insults. Not like I dislike people of other races, I just make a lot of offensive jokes

I was more eluding to how the place would differ. Not necessarily would it be better.

ISH is an E-Jungle. In real life though? I imagine the trolls would be more calm and wouldn't open their mouths like they do now.

I would very much like to see Dresta locked in a room with Deuce.

Nick and 9er in a room with J$.

Poido in an airplane with Jam.

Me in drazs bedroom.

Jeff in a room with godzuki, stalkerforlife, charie z, enayes, and other scum.

I will most likely buy everyone on ISH a beer if I met them in real life even Deuce Wallace. I will probably get him drunk and take him to the back alley and toss him into a dumpster.

With everyone else, I would be chill with.

There should still be some sort of brotherhood outside of here.

The sad part, I feel like we're all the same people. No one on the outside would ever understand us. It's like we family. ISH a bunch of strong men compared to the outside, but on the inside ISH only the real strong men survive.

Other way around works as well: how many people would behave differently if they could say what they REALLY think face to face?
