For Steve Novak, DJ Augustin and 2 second round picks

I'm assuming it's just for the contract. Foye should be out of the league after this season.

Denver got a really solid return for a back up

I'm hoping he contributes but other than his expiring contract and letting Payne loose, he doesn't serve much of a purpose.

Minor yet effective deal. A backup pg while Nelson recovers and two second rounders for foye is solid.

And the Thunder get to dump more than $6 mill in salary by the end of the season.

This is the type of trade that looks good on paper, but really doesn't change anything.

Augustine is better than Foye.

Thunder cutting salary at the trade deadline? :facepalm

This is what I call a typical thunder move, cost effective.

Why are you surprised? they do this every trade deadline.

what are Augustine and Novak's contract situations like? All 3 guys in this trade are expiring, but Novak makes the most (~$4.5M iirc). Foye is at $3.3M, I think, and DJA makes $3M or so this year.

Augustine has been struggling though, so I see why OKC wanted to shake things up. But they gave up two 2nd rounders for an incremental bench improvement and to trim their tax bill. Solid move for Denver imo.

DJ 3 mill and Novak 3.75, both coming off the books, as I said it will help Payne most.
