View Full Version : Seems Like No One Really Cares About Kobe's Retirement

You see a few players every once in awhile say something nice about him. But overall, just seems pretty meh. You can tell his legacy won't be talk about nearly as much as the other great players.

Not really, he gets a standing ovation on his entrance and exits from the game in every single game he has played this season.
Whole all-star weekend was dedicated to him, so yeah.
Aside from Warriors dominance, this is easily the biggest story of the year in the NBA as shown by Kobe having a dominant lead in the ASG voting

It is getting annoying but I'm not mad at Kobe. He's not out there making a spectacle of everything, he just puts the finger up and thx the fans, he's not like overdoing anything. HE'S NOT. Its the media thats overdoing it and every arena he plays in. When he played the Pacers a couple weeks ago, that was embarrassing for the Pacers to be getting booed at home while they're winning the game or for PG to be getting booed at the free throw line by a bunch of brain dead Kobe fans...
Again, none of that is Kobe's fault, its just annoying.

Yea no big deal..
- Besides the sold out Arenas
- $1000 minimum priced nose bleed tickets
- Every player and coach from the opposition wanting to come over and shake his hand
- Crowds chanting Kobe
- Still some chants of MVP
Yea, no big deal at all.
EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention he lead the league in All-Star voting. All while having a horrible season. Yea...no big deal.

it literally has been talked about ad nauseam all season, it was the focus of all star weekend, every current NBA play worth a damn has been asked his opinion on it, there was a ceremony held for Kobe on national television in-front of the all stars at the all star game. It has been the biggest story in the NBA all season long now.
But I guess the rock you've been living under since Lebron lost in the finals for the 2nd straight year doesn't have cable.

Agreed. There was a lot of respect being shown when Kobe first announced it, but now no one seems to give a shit other than his brain dead stans. Honestly speaking this whole "retirement tour" has been awkward and cringeworthy as hell. It's literally the same thing every night. Kobe starts out shooting 4/16, then suddenly makes 2 shots in a row, and his desperate fan boys start chanting his name. :oldlol: The shit is just so forced

Let's say nobody really did care...I guess were blessed (depending on your opinion of him) that Kobe thinks his retirement tour matters more than the actual basketball season. I'm really not sure how Kobe thinks is emulating Jordan (what he as attempted to do his entire career)...Mike is definitely an arrogant piece of shit..but he would never stick around a team like the Lakers and embarrass himself the way Kobe is doing...the saddest thing about kobe is that Jordan in that last 2003 year is a better defensive player at 39 than Kobe has been since 2003....LOL.

Now that I think about it, who else received a retirement tour like this aside from Kareem? Dr. J?
