Kobestans need to learn not to throw stones in glass houses.

If it makes you feel any better, there's at least 1 other contract in the league that is almost as shitty as Kobe's. That would be Joe Johnson's.

The next best player on his team is a 20 year old rookie that was drafted purely on potential.

Seriously what's his problem this year? He should be putting up big numbers playing on this crappy team.

oh the horror

Yes but the difference is, one of those guys actually brought some titles home to their franchises at some point. The other two? Wtf have they ever done? Carmelo especially is just absolutely a waste right now.

Brings me back to 2003 draft. LeBron got drafted one but people were chanting overrated in the crowd. Look at them now? Melo was supposed to be the best player in the draft.

I thought Melo would turn out better than Lebron. He was so polished and clutch in college. It's a big disappointment to me what Melo wound up becoming.

Pretty much averaging the same numbers at 31 as Paul George at his peak right now.

melo 21.4/ 7.9/ 4.2 on 42.6%

pg 23.3/7.1/4 on 41.2%

With your basketball IQ...this is no surprise. Playing well in college doesn't mean a whole lot really...especially if all you do is score like Marshmelo. Look at Westbrick...he was decent...but he was nothing special in college because the game isn't geared toward his skill set like the NBA is. College is all about passing, passing, and then taking a jump shot...a reason why no athletic ability scrubs like Jimmer and Adam Morrison look like superstars...but can't even make a 12 man rotation in the NBA.

a player in his prime vs a 38 year old guard coming off 3 straight season ending injuries

very impressive

Melo is going on 32 and coming off season ending knee surgery. And he's literally a few good nights away from having solid shooting numbers.

If the OP is making a point about salary's relationship to performance, Kobe deserves a mention. OP being a Kobe nut hugger makes it that much more necessary.

I like both of these players but obviously Kobe wasn't expected to perform on the same level as Melo this year. I'm very, very disappointing in the Knicks this year I haven't seen too many Knicks games so I can't really talk about it too much but I can't believe Melo isn't leading this team to the playoffs

He led the Nuggets to the playoffs every year winning 50+ games, his defense has improved but god damn I can't figure out why they have been so bad this year.

I like the Knicks and Melo, I want to see them do well. It is good for the NBA if the Knicks are in the playoffs

I don't know exactly what happened with his knee last year but his decreased performance can probably be attributed to that partially at the very least...but he's having his worst individual season since '05.

I also don't really watch the Knicks but I've read that he's deferred a lot more this season than usual and has tried to be more of a team player. Might just be that not working for him at all. :oldlol:

Bad guard play, bad coaching. Team is 0-7 without Melo so they may very well still be in the mix right now if Melo didn't miss all of those games. Say they go 3-4 in those games instead. That puts them at 26-29 only a couple games back from the bulls who are marred by injury. Knicks are -2.2 on the season, +.4 with Melo on the court.
