He scored most of his points when Rose wasn't on him.

ri ri is still rusty from all of his injuries. Also every elite pg has trouble scoring against rose, even curry and westbrook.

Rose, when motivated can severely limit PG's. I've seen this guy give Prime athlete Chris Paul fits in the past.

The Bulls have no identity and it's confused his role there. The guy has amazing defensive awareness and still great athletiscm.

Rose is a great on the ball defender. one of the best at the pg position, actually(but you can catch him hard with picks). it's really not that surprising

Common knowledge, most PGs do their scoring on picks and when big men have to cover them. That's how Rose did all his scoring 'against Westbrook'.

Rose has always locked up kyrie when he guards him, dating back to their first meeting

The craftiness that kyrie has never works on Rose

Kyrie gets his buckets once brooks comes in

Rose always takes care of kyrie no problem, essentially a non factor when he plays against them

It seems to me that Rose always gives a little extra against Kyrie ever since the summer of 2014 when it was assumed Rose would be the starter for Team USA in the World Cup, but Kyrie ended up beating him out and winning the MVP.

I don't think there is necessarily bad blood, but it seems to get his competitive juices flowing. That's fine with me, btw. Rose tends to put up a ton of shots when he is playing against Kyrie, and a lot of them are pretty low percentage.

In the playoff series last year -- in which Kyrie was playing at about 80% health-wise -- Rose was the one having problems with scoring efficiently.

Eastern Conference Semifinal averages (6 games):

Kyrie Irving
17.5 points on 12.2 FGAs
44/42/90 splits
58.5 TS%
48.6 eFG
114 ORtng

Derrick Rose
21.7 points on 22.5 FGAs
38/31/90 splits
45.2 TS%
41.5 eFG
102 ORtng

This is the first year Westbrook guarded Rose as the primary defender. Grab any Rose highlight video before this year and you will see he uses picks far less than any top PG. This year they set more than ever. But still not a whole lot. Rose primarily was just blowing by Westbrook in their last meeting. It definitely wasnt picks for the majority of the points. Somebody can post the YouTube link.

You're a dumbass, I saw him beat Westbrook twice. The rest were on switches. Meanwhile I lost count how many times Westbrook blew by him or posted up on him.

TMZ posted the video, most were on someone else or on picks. I counted 4 points, maybe 6 on Westbrook. Use current videos, enough living in 2011 sheesh.

Wait a video was just posted of this year and they only play twice, and you want a more current one. And this is Rose about 75% of himself.

Rose was doing all of this without his favorite move or his favorite shot and getting gassed. He's just getting his floater on now but still far from its previous status. His crossover is still not there but he can do it sometimes. The only time I saw Rose go extra was at Chris Paul when CP thought he was a Globetrotter and waaay over dribbled and when Lebron celebrated a chase down block on him. Outside of that he naturally gets up for other stars which real stars always seem to do. He doesn't go harder at Teague for taking his Allstar spot, or Wall for that matter. Rose always guarded Kyrie very well. He's usually outplaying the other superstars minus Curry.
