Was made / recorded on a Mac.
This is utter bullshit.

I remember when Garage Band came out on Mac and Mac users lost their minds over it. And it was functionality that out been out on PC for 6 years. Sound Forge was probably the best audio editor for a single track and that was PC only for years and used all over the place.

More importantly, if I gave you a CD you would have absolutely no idea if was made/recorded on PC or a Mac.

If you do your own work, it doesn't really matter what your preference is, if you are working for or with others, Pro Tools on Mac is the standard, but that's because of the legacy base of users. It doesn't say anything about buying the best DAW in 2016.

Maybe I should have typed a little more precise.

Your dip shit friends that make songs on garage band or fruity loops don't count.

99% of the songs you've heard that have been released on a record label has been recorded on a Mac and pro tools.

Garage band!!!?????!!!

My stomach. My stomach. I was specifically thinking of a couple of Grammy winner producers who endorsed the product. The more famous of which was a three time Grammy winning producer. The biggest act he has worked with was The Rolling Stones, you may have heard of them. I know producers who have been getting paid for loop based music for 15 years. From Disney, the Academy Awards, tons of movie stuff, producers or engineers who edit single tracks on PC even if they mix or master on Mac.

If you aren't aware of that you have no claim to know percentages of anything. You think garage band or fruity loops are what the pros use for loop based music, that's on you.

Here's an album that won five Grammy's four years ago. Not recorded on a Mac. Not recorded in Pro Tools.

I'll clue you in. If you 99% of music in the last 15 years was recorded digitally, you're delusional.

If you think Pro Tools is the only DAW being used by professionals, you're delusional.

I can name several big name artists and producers who prefer analog to digital. Analog is undergoing a resurgence. Hell, vinyl records sales are the highest they have been in 25 years. Sales of vinyl records generated $250 million last year.

Run into far less restrictions and compatibility issues along the way.

Y'all are ignant.

Dumpin some analog drum recordings into pro tools to mix, is still on pro tools.

Of course some people are still recording some of their sounds analog, but then they dump em into pro tools.

Prolly more like 96%...

You can name an example here and there...

Like your little foo fighters example..

"I was worried 'cause I'd got so used to mixing from Pro Tools,”""-moulder. The dude who mixed the album.

That proves my point even more.

Everyone ALWAYS uses pro tools and this example is so far from the norm.

You don't even know who Butch Vig is, do you? Steve Albini, who you also don't know has been and still is strictly analog from day one to today.

You're a fool and should stay far, far, far away from declaring any ignant.

You don't understand 95-5

For every album recorded all analog I'll show you 95 not.

Idiot.

You understand that you just backed off your own numbers.

For whatever reason studios in Europe were more likely to use PC's that stuidos in the US, still not the majority, but more than you would think.

As for protools, there are a lot of competing DAWs that have surpassed them in a lot of ways. You should see the complaints on the Pro Tools Expert website. You should hear ex-Pro Tools users raving about Studio One. EDM folks are all about Ableton LIVE even for studio work.

If you're a big studio or a producer, you are still going to need your old projects. When someone comes in to remaster or a song got used in a movie and there are putting out the album again, you need to open your legacy prjoects. Also they probably have thousands of dollars of hardware/plugins and just the hassle of switching would prevent you from even looking at other DAWs.

But if you were starting a studio today and were going to be in the in-house producer--meaning you don't have worry about legacy projects or working with others, and had all the money to buy anything you wanted, would you choose Pro Tools today? Especially when Avid really isn't supporting it too well? Lots of folks still would do that, far lower than your 99..or 95 percent.
