I never thought it would be the case but it's not far-fetched to say that based on this current season.

Westbrook is clearly playing smarter, more efficient basketball than he ever has and he's improved as a playmaker.

As phenomenal as Durant is, Westbrook is the engine behind that team. When Durant goes through his moments where he doesn't assert himself, Westbrook is always there making plays keeping them in it.

I'd say this is the first season where you could say they're playing at a comparable level.

Westbrook is considered by many to be a top 10, even a top 5 player. It's not the most farfetched thing ever. I think Durant is better, but it's not like he is a scrub compared to Durant. They are both stars.

Westbrook falls apart when the margin for error shrinks like in the playoffs.. His mistakes are too costly for the team then. Durant is much better in those moments (even tho he can be too passive).

But this season it really looks like he's turned a new stone. He's playing very different. We'll see in the playoffs.

You can tell the majority of people posting in this thread don't watch enough Thunder games to comment. Durant is so far ahead of Westbrook as a player, it's not even up for debate.

Westbrook is the king of empty stats. This guy can't close a game to save his life and has one of the most broke jumpers in the league. Durant's better at both ends of the court, way more efficient, plays more in the flow of the game, makes better decisions, and has a bigger dick.

For the people saying Westbrook is or could be better, you're saying you would or might take Westbrook over Durant on a team, which is the dumbest sentiment in history.
