They were the epitome of a good team, no superstars, but owns the league through teamwork and defense.

Don't know if we can ever see such a good team again.

Spurs and Golden State are based on the same teamwork principles to exploit the current league rules i.e. soft D and the 3 point shot.

Definitely.

I would pay good money to watch a motivated Sheed play again. That team contained a superb blend of talent, selflessness, defence and toughness that the casual fan at the time probably couldn't appreciate.

The Jazz remind me of them a little bit. Too bad Exum's out.

Most Pistons fans do, haha. Even present day, any article even loosely referencing someone from that club usually out-performs news on the current team (the piece on Rasheed Wallace driving a truck full of water up to Flint is a good example).

That said, it took non-Detroit folks quite a while back then to jump on the Pistons train. There was a lot of hate for their pace and assumed lack of excitement. Most didn't consider them realistic championship threats until they actually won.

But yeah, as Deuce said, for the people nostalgic about teamwork and defense and all the right stuff about the game, it may be worth appreciating the Warriors and Spurs while they're here. Sometimes it takes time to realize how great it was to have certain teams around. But it's pretty easy to recognize it's happening as we speak with those two.

That was a very cool team...it represented the City/State perfectly...

the games felt like a close knit college atmosphere...

Sheed for 3...and Big Ben with the Block and then running floor!...

very entertaining....Bad Boys 2.0

IIRC sheed didn't go full antoine walker not until he showed up w/ a belly in 2005. He was closer to Portland sheet during tat championship run
