"Average retail gasoline prices in Tacoma have fallen 1.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.04 per gallon Monday, the petroleum industry monitor GasBuddy.com reported.
That compares with the national average that has increased 1.9 cents per gallon in the past week to $1.71 per gallon.
Including the change in gas prices in Tacoma during the past week, prices are 48.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 21 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, GasBuddy reported. The national average has decreased 13.1 cents per gallon during the past month and stands 58.4 cents per gallon lower than one year ago.
According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices for this period in Tacoma have ranged widely over the past five years, from $2.52 per gallon in 2015 to $3.38 in 2011.
In Tacoma, the Arco station at Orchard and 56th streets had the lowest price Monday morning at $1.75 a gallon, followed by two other Arco stations and the Tacoma Costco at $1.77.
In Olympia, the lowest price Monday was $1.77 a gallon at Arco on Martin Way East near Nisqually Cutoff Road Southeast."
