2017-2018 season A.D. wins MVP. He'll be Shaq-like status by then. Lebron will probably take his foot off the pedal more by then and pace himself. He's been doing that the past couple seasons.

LeBron isn't the best player now?

Only Bron stans and low ball iq people would think he is.

Davis likely isn't gonna reach his next level until he's with a different franchise.

You mean surpass Steph Curry? I dunno, Steph is only 27. He'll probably be on top for quite a while.

Pretty sure OP meant when Anthony Davis will surpass Curry, you know, the games definite best player? Whatever the case, it'll be his league in 3-4 more years TOPS.

You surround him with decent enough talent and he'll get you into the playoffs. He plays with an actual good supporting cast and they're instant contenders. Dude already has ATG impact.

He'll never win anything in New Orleans.

To what? Lebron consistently playing worse? We're supposed to ignore results, stats, on court occurrences, advanced stats, etc?

All point to Curry.

Curry is having a better regular season than Lebron, however he doesn't get the mantle of best player in the NBA until he consistently outplays him in the post season. If Curry can continue this dominance on through the Finals and take home FMVP and a title, then I could see myself giving it to him. Being that the playoffs are a different animal, and Bron has a longer history of excellence in them, he retains his title until someone wrestles it away. That's fair, and what should be for any player of his stature.

Curry having a great stat season doesn't mean he is better than lebron overall that is comical .. Lebron is laying in weeds until playoff time anyway he can't consistently blow his load in regular season anymore the days of putting up 30,10,10 on regular are over in regular season.

how would you judge outplaying, especially when they don't guard each other.

Stats, wins?

I think he means it quite literally, outplaying, as in, playing better. Not sure what guarding has to do with that, especially since Curry never guards top guys anyway.

Not sure why people have to "wait until the playoffs" when Curry was arguably better than LeBron last season as well.

Steph was a greater offensive player, more efficient (both in scoring via TS% and all-around with PER), but most importantly had the highest impact of ANY player in the game with a RPM of 9.34

Hindsight is always 20/20 but even last year I thought Curry was better...and the objective evidence only backs my opinion.

I get the feeling that he will never be the best player in the league. Top 3 at most sure. But to be the best.

curry is a great shooter but lebron is better around. Better rebounder, passer, defender, scorer
