The mean is 26.6 with a standard deviation of 4.3, so Durant is right there. He's fine. His window is 31 before people can start saying he can't win the big one.

MJ had to climb one of the highest mountains ever. Years of getting destroyed by all time great teams. The emotion is real.

To add to the list, Wade was 24 and Curry (who probably will be an all-time great if he isn't already) was 26.

Durant doesn't have a 3-peat in him. By this age LeBron, Shaq, and Jordan had led their teams on deep playoff runs, it was clear all they needed was a 2nd option to succeed. Durant already has GOATbrook.

Will he ever win a ring as the true first option? :confusedshrug: If he hopes to make the top 15 all-time, he needs more hardware...it's already his 9th season.

KD fvcked up by giving LeBron his first ring.

You could also blame Boston for choking that year in Game 7 at Boston as well.

You could also blame SA for choking and letting Ray Ray drop that luck 3 in game 6.

Honestly... both of LeBron's rings are lucky as fvck!

Sometimes you need luck.

Most of those players went to college for 4 years, and so started at a later age. Can't compare to the players who start at 19 these days.

That's true, maybe OP can do one that counts the number of seasons before they win their first ring

Yes because there is no benefit to coming into the Nba later when you're fully developed rather than as a teenager, being fresher going into your peak physical years 25-31.

if wilt was born 20 years earlier , he might have 10 rings.

you can come up with all sorts of excuses out of your butt for these things.

Jordan - 27 (7th season)
Kareem - 23 (2nd season)
Russell - 22 (Rookie season)
Wilt - 30 (8th season)
Magic - 20 (Rookie season)
Bird - 24 (2nd season)
Duncan - 22 (2nd season)
Lebron - 27 (9th season)
Kobe - 21 (4th season)
Shaq - 27 (8th season)
Hakeem - 31 (10th season)
Moses - 27 (7th NBA season, 9th overall)
Dr J - 23 (3rd ABA season), 32 (7th NBA season, 12th overall)
Oscar - 32 (11th season)
West - 33 (12th season)
Garnett - 31 (13th season)
Dirk - 32 (13th season)

Of that list, Wilt, Oscar, Moses, Shaq, KG, and Bron didn't win it with the teams they played their first minutes on. All won it on their second team except Moses. Although he was traded after two games after the merger so it might as well be his second team.

Magic winning it all his rookie year is so impressive. It's like D'Angelo Russell leading the Lakers to the Finals this year and dominating. I don't think he gets enough credit for that, that's some GOAT-level shit. Has any other player ever won a ring contributing big time their rookie year?

Bill Russell would have to count.

Sure, if Kobe averaged 33 on 55% in the finals.

Just looked at the 80 finals. Magic shot 57% from the field.

Except Magic didn't lead the Lakers to the Finals that year...Kareem did.

Plus Magic only played 1 game w/o Kareem in that Finals.

Kobe didn't get his "1st option" ring until he was 30.

That's the one that counts as his first ring.
