to be fair, Curry ranks in the bottom half of defenders at the guard position.

to be fair, he gets dropped off for 50 points by players that aren't even top 10 players (dame)

otoh, Jordan was the greatest perimeter defender of all time, in addition to being the greatest offensive player of all time.. Jordan was taller, longer, stronger, faster, quicker and smarter than guys like Payton and Moncrief - there isn't a single defensive area where MJ isn't superior.

but regardless of whether you agree that MJ was the best perimeter defender ever, he was at least top 5.. When ranking non-big men, only MJ ranks in the top 5 on offense AND defense (when ranking bigs, only Wilt does)

Is Curry dropping 30/8/8 on the season? No? Just 30/5/6 with average defense? Ok

dropped 50? 21 in the 4th quarter when curry was already eating hotdog and getting ready for the next game? your argument is invalid

Come back in a few years....if he can even maintain it....theres already some things he'll never achieve though...like 100% FMVP.

One good year does not make an MJ type career...
It says a lot about your lack of intelligence tbh

U mad, bro?

jordan had to win 6 championship rings.. while curry would match that with his 2015-2016 season.. best season anyplayer ever had...he cant be stopped. well 4th quarter can stop stop him cause he had to sit.. all curry needs is one season to be the absolute GOAT.. Thats Impressive

The spotlight was on Jordan every time he played in the NBA Finals. He ended up 6-0, 6 FMVP, never playing a game 7.

Curry receiving 0 FMVP votes? And you're comparing him to Jordan?

So it begins... the conversion of Curry stans into ignorant leflop stans. :facepalm

Listen here, I like Curry, he is well on his way to becoming one of the all time greats but let's not get carried away here. When he does eclipse MJ, you can rub it in all you want but right now he is still too far off. :no:

Wilt = Judaism

MJ = Christianity

Curry = Islam

The funny thing is Curry would be appalled by this thread because he is a born again Christian.

curry is a great player but his success is determined by his supporting cast. Put curry on sixers........not a playoff team. We gotta give the warriors credit for building a TEAM.

Jordan was a little different....Jordan was more like a LeBron without the extra help LeBron needs....you put Jordan on any team in his PRIME and you were guaranteed a finals berth.

Funny how that wasn't remotely true the first 6 seasons of his career, including years he was easily in his prime '88-'90, not a single Finals appearance

Are you kidding me? You cannot call Curry the best player ever by any stretch of the imagination, yet. This regular season? It's a regular season, Dirk won a regular season MVP yet got ousted in the first round, you can't just throw assumptions like that out there. You especially can't when he almost got beat by a walking corpse known as the Cavaliers in the finals and wasn't even the best player that series (arguably 3rd best).
Right now? As many people have said, Curry is probably on GOAT level offense which is indisputable, but defensively he never gets put on the other team's point guard if he's actually any good. That's what separates players like LeBron, Jordan, Kobe, etc... because they could dominate BOTH sides of the ball, not just one.
