America is surprisingly progressive on these topics, or at least trying to be, last couple years

Prices for electric car batteries are coming down fast
It’s looking like the 2020s will be the decade of the electric car. (http://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-ev-oil-crisis/)

Battery prices fell 35 percent last year and are on a trajectory to make unsubsidized electric vehicles as affordable as their gasoline counterparts in the next six years, according to a new analysis of the electric-vehicle market by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF). That will be the start of a real mass-market liftoff for electric cars.

Koch brothers and other oil/coal folks getting very nervous in North America/Europe/Australia as clean energy rises in exponential growth. Wait until Clinton/Sanders win election and push for more solar energy.

I believe solar power is the future still not convinced about wind though.

make no mistake fool, oil will continue to be the main energy source until it runs out. We have a solid 50 years more of oil dominance at least

Those covers look hideous. Like paintings you would expect to see from a century ago...

Anyone agree with this?

I like the look of these posters. I think they are pretty sharp. Modern typeface with an old style feel.

Concentrated Solar is a cool technology. This plant is in Nevada. A ton of mirrors reflect the sun's heat onto a tower filled with molten salt. The molten salt then heats a steam turbine. They say it can create energy at night.

After the sun goes down, the salt retains sufficient heat for up to 10 hours, allowing it to continue producing power. Following significant testing, and now full operational results, the company says the solar tower and molten salt heat transfer system is performing in excess of initial expectations.

Oil will never run out. It will just get harder to get to because you have to drill further and further into the seabed or go to the poles. Risks of very deep drills or the poles are great because if there is a leak there, it would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to clean up and a decade or 2 to clear up the oil. This is why we must get away from oil while we still have time to safely do so.

To push 50 years on oil is foolish, damaging, and risky. Land oil wells in Saudi Arabia are already going dry. They will need to push towards the Indian Ocean (maybe Arabian Gulf and Red Sea?) to keep up with the demands. Russia is drilling further and further towards the Arctic.

This doesn't even consider the cost to the environment of burning oil. :confusedshrug:

That's the problem. When I think of this topic, it's supposed to be cutting edge, innovative, representative of the future. When I look at those covers, I get a feeling of outdated, old-fashioned, a style from a past century. It has a jarring effect. Instead of precision there is ambiguousness and lack of clarity. I'm talking mostly about the artwork.
