I lived through the Jordan era too. To me, MDE Shaq, 35 ppg Kobe and Curry are the best I've ever seen.

The only player close to Curry's offensive efficiency is MDE Shaq in his prime.

Curry is the GOAT offensive player I've ever seen.

Yes, Curry is an above average defender. MJ was a great defender.

...and Curry is a great passer, whereas MJ was an above average passer.

MJ didn't dominate the ball, Curry still has a turnover problem on passes, don't be a prisoner of the moment, Curry is an average passer nothing more.

Curry is ranked 37th among point guards in Assist to Turnover ratio, that's defintely NOT being a good passer lol.

the weakest part of his offensive game is his passing imo.

not to say, it is weak ofc...

but most of his tos come from the pass. at least this is what i get from my eye test. i think bball ref has the stats.

The guy is anchoring the best offense ever and you're bringing up these silly stats. :oldlol:

NOBODY draws as much defensive attention as Steph, nobody creates as much opportunities for their teammates, and he does it without dominating the ball. He's a brilliant passer and playmaker.

JimmyMcAdocious

Curry is better than a video game. The shots he regularly takes would be considered bad shots in the game... I guarantee you miss most of them, even with a maxed out created player. ...Unless you mess with the sliders.

He's MJ. He's Alcindor. The guy is literally changing the game as we speak. As great as LeBron was and is (and I think he's easily the best talent since Jordan), even he didn't impact the game like this. You would probably only need one hand to count those guys, and most of them benefitted from the sport not being very evolved yet. He's truly a transcending basketball player.

No he isn't you're not making sense.

His assist to turnover ratio is BAD for a main ballhandler, he throws the ball away a lot and he only averages 6.7 assists with 3.4 turnovers.

That simply isn't being a 'brilliant' passer not even close.

MJ averaged 8 assist pr. game in with 3.6 turnovers in 88-89 to go with 32.5 ppg and 8 rebounds pr. game along with 3 spg and DPOY.

How come Curry can't match that?

Exact same Usage Rate, Curry 32.6 vs MJ 32.2.

Next season MJ averaged 33.6 ppg and 6.9 apg with 3.2 turnovers.

There simply isn't a case to be made for Curry being a better passer.

This is where stats can get distorted or misrepresented ..

Curry is a excellent passer after looking for his shot first....

but it also means that he may be more outta control....

but YOU always want him looking for his shot..even if it's from 35' away...

You can look at John Stockton and say ...." Stockton is a GOAT Passer better then Curry"....

umm...not really.....in the context that Curry is way more dangerous from more areas and is looking to attack from everywhere....

I would take Curry's passing off the dribble over J Stockton every day and twice on sunday....that makes curry a much better passer...

he is simply doing more with the dribble and pass then stockton was.

Kobe was putting 50 points night after another like it ain't no big deal. Curry is efficient I'll give him that but Curry won't be scoring 60 or 80. It gets difficult to be as efficient when you shooting more. This is basic.
The fawning over this guy makes me wanna puke. It's as of folks forgot basketball is played on 2 ends of the court. Defensively he ain't nowhere near what Kobe was.
Offensively, he's efficient on lesser shots. He ain't carrying that efficency if he's shooting 25 times a game.

2009 and 2013 Bron were insane... those seasons were on par with MJ and Shaq peaks. But I think this season stands alone as the best of all time at this point.

Kobe's best season isn't close to this. Durant's season a few seasons ago was pretty historic, but at no point were people calling it the greatest ever or anything close.

I think he'll go back to being a 25-28ppg type scorer next season. There is usually a dip after a season like this for a player. Could be wrong though.

Yea well there comes a point where the regular season doesn't matter and its all about the playoffs (like it's been for LeBron the past 2 years or so), so you may be right there.

35 is too much for his minutes. He only plays like 34 mpg, with multiple 4th quarter absences. His points/minutes ratio is insane (>0.9). Give him 37 mpg next season and, even with a reduced .85 ratio, he's at an improved 32.3 ppg.

Yes I lived through the Jordan era. The end.

Curry is having historic season and no one with the right sense could disagree. Curry proved himself THIS SEASON and proved a lot of doubters wrong. That's fact. But the season is not ended yet and with postseason ahead we will have more complete picture to look at and where his seasons stands in terms of history. I am waiting for the playoffs, for a healthy Curry with more minutes and tougher defences.

The fact that someones claim Curry is better than Jordan is quite an achievement for the man, and he had some years ahead of him.

As a shooter Curry is better than MJ, as a player a have watched prime Jordan and have some reservations - for me MJ still the better overall. I know that right now Curry is on top of his game and if not for some minor injuries during the season he would have even better numbers.

Had Curry sustain this level of play for another 3-4 seasons, had he lead the Warriors to some 3 more chips than we can speak about him as one of the GOATs ever. Let's not forget MJs was 10 times NBA scoring champ, multiple MVP, 6 from 6 ans so on. He was the best for almost a decade, not for like 2 seasons.

Again, Curry commands more gravity than anyone in NBA history.

It'd be embarrassing to see him clear-out 20 years ago and watch him go one-on-one, like the stars of that day were able to do. :oldlol:

Curry would absolutely shred those telegraphed double teams

I could see him being a 30/10 guy on old school 38-40 minutes

Dude is in denial. Just let him live bro...

He thinks his words are gospel and that he is actually convincing people. Reality is, he probably isn't convinced by his own words.

Curry>Bron.

Honestly, I would take prime Reggie Miller over Curry any day of the week heading into the playoffs. Physicality is a part of the game and he doesn't respond well to it. Welcome to the playoffs.
