View Full Version : It's crazy how Curry vs. Harden was a thing last season?

And many people were picking Harden. Hell, I'm from Houston and didn't even take James Harden last season.

How things have changed in just months. Never seen two top tier players at their peaks move 2 (or more, how ever many you see fit) opposite notches away from each other in just a season's span.

Why?

Harden was amazing last year and Curry wasn't close to as dominant as he is now.

It's not amazing at all...people just reacted to what was happening in front of them.

Which was that Harden had an amazing season...and played great...same thing with Curry.

People are forgetting just how much more dominant Curry has been this year. It wasn't close to this last year.

I said everything you said here. Curry got much better and Harden took steps back.

Even Dwight Howard and Tracy McGrady came close to winning MVP's. There's always going to be a runner up who in retrospect, on face value or in actual value, seems kinda surprising. Jason Kidd almost beat out Tim Duncan (but didn't) in one season. Peja Stojakovic and Jermaine O'Neal finished higher in MVP voting than Shaq, Kobe, and Dirk another season. Having said that, Harden had a great last season, but he's no Curry generally speaking

Billups finished over Wade in the '06 MVP voting.. they underestimated him at the time and still have lots of shared credit to Shaq, while the Pistons just 2 years ago won the title, Billups FMVP, and one year ago lost one of the closest finals series' ever.

Rose won an MVP, Howard actually deserved it more than he did...!

Hindsight is 20/20
Harden was a beast at the start of last year and could literally get to the basket at will. It wouldn't be a stretch to compare them at that point in time. Think about it one year later. A year ago nobody would put Curry in the same breath as Jordan. Now it's become a regular topic
