Doesn't help that I haven't picked up a ball in months and I can shoot twice as good as him right now. I'd bet money on it.

It's not talent or motivation or effort.
It's IQ. He is a forward who doesn't know how to play.
He basically has every forward skill at a decent level, he just doesn't how to use it in a game.

He accidentally walked onto the stage at the Draft. Nigguh was just looking for the washroom but they put a cap on his head and the rest is history.

It's just talent and IQ.
When he played for the Raptors 905 (Raptors D-League affiliate in Mississauga; like a 15 minute drive from Bennett's home city of Brampton), his numbers were terrible... And this was in the one place he could have adapted to one day get properly accustomed to the modern NBA.
If he can't cut it to make a D-league rotation near his hometown, he's forever out of the league. Would rather see Ronald Roberts, Scott Suggs, and Axel Toupane get called up one day.

I remember in summer league/pre season he had a few small stretches where he looked like he could take over but they were very brief. I think it's just a case of him having a really good work out and a GM trying to make a hail Mary but falling flat on their face. You don't take that kind of risk with the top pick. He just doesn't have the talent for actual NBA games where players are actually trying.

Lakers should take a chance on him. They took a chance on Kwame Brown!

Kwame could play defense.
There's nothing Bennett does consistently and the Lakers might as well just focus on grooming Randle, who is a far better version of Bennett.

Don't think he's too talented. Otherwise teams with little talent and lacking at his position wouldn't be giving up so quickly on a 22 year old kid.

I thought he would be under whelming but I expected him to improve and at least fill a role.

I think he's the player type, who would actually profit playing alongside Lebron, but well..

That would be Lebron, gaudy numbers, but 2/6.
