So Anthony Bennett has been waived from his hometown team. Who should give him a shot? Would you give him a shot on your team? Remember he was drafted because he had "godly" potential, not his body of work.

First of all he should probably request to get a refund on his Presto card. Then go back to Brampton and spend every night getting drunk and bragging about how he was drafted No.1 overall.

If Anthony Bennett does not play again, his 543 points will be fewest by No. 1 pick since Mark Workman in 1962. Even Greg Oden scored 840.
trash.

Such a shame, and the sad part is he is really talented. We will learn later there is more to this story, depression, illness, something? He really played well for Canada this past summer, team first guy, big nights on the boards, top scorer at times, very explosive, such a shame he is a walking NBA ghost.
Maybe Phoenix, with its rep of rehabbing players can do something with him. I would love to see SA give him a shot, but his footwork might not be up to their level.
Getting out of Toronto might be good, too much undeserved attention there.

Andrew Nicholson also played well for canada though. International ball is a different pace.

If he wasn't on the main team, he was playing 15 minutes away from his hometown at the Hershey Centre. Like someone already mentioned, he was awful in the D-League too.
He's just not that good and hasn't shown he can adapt to today's league. Pretty obvious he has low basketball IQ too. There are a couple D-League players who haven't been called up from the Raptors that I will comfortably take over Bennett because they can add a skill or 2 that will translate into the NBA.

Well he was universally mocked to be a lotto pick.
he had a pretty developed offensive game in college and decent physical attributes.
Noel was done for a year. Cavs had just drafted a 6'3'' combo guard the prior draft so i doubt they wanted to draft another. Len, Zeller, Porter, all had low ceilings.
I think it was just a swing for the fences and a colossal miss. Christ Grant got fired over it and rightfully so, IMO.
I've said it before and I still stand by it, Bennett has the tools to be a good NBA player, he is just one of the most mentally soft players EVER.
His problem is all between the ears.
EDIT: check out his draft express video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4mD1PFE04c
dude used to play with confidence.

^Yeah looking back at that draft, it was pretty weak.

I was just looking up his rookie stats, and over his first 7 games, dude averaged 0.7 points on 4.8% shooting. I still remember people waiting for him to score his first bucket in the NBA. 0-15 over his first 4 games. :facepalm
Cavs gonna Cav though. Probably the WOAT #1 pick.
I read the Suns are looking at him.

Because Nerlens Noel was badly injured before the draft.
That 2013 class was nothing to write home about.
