JR Smith is an adequate shooting guard in the regular season.
But in the playoff's he wilts like a dead flower without juice.

If Cav's had a legit chance to make a trade to acquire a Shooting Guard , what player would you pick up to replace Smith :confusedshrug:

My thoughts if they had a legit 3 point, out side shooter threat , the Cav's would be the team to beat.

I want your trade to be with current players.

J.R. Smith has actually been a bright spot for this team during their struggles. Dude always gives tons of effort. He has been good defensively. Overall i have been pretty happy with JR

Fool's gold. He will crap the bed in the playoffs. If not the first 3 rounds, he will in the Finals.

he still contributes even when his shot is falling.

What they need is a Draymond Green type player. One who can defend the paint, fascilitate, and not be a liability on offense, whether it is stretching the floor, finishing around the basket, or hitting ft's. Essentially Draymond Green

JR has been one of the best players for the Cavs this year. Ultimate 3&D player, one of the best defenders in the team and 3 point shooters.

Klay Thompson.

Yeah, by committing stupid fouls and getting technicals.

Klay Thompson.
As OP stated in a trade ....

So I really don't think Klay T. would be an option , he certainly would be a VERY GOOD FIT.

nice suggestion , But the Cav's have enough big men, and during playoff time LUE will have them tighten their pants up and play the paint.

As OP stated we are looking for a SHOOTING GUARD REPLACEMENT.

Klay Thompson.
Who wouldn't want a player like Big D.I.K. Klay on there team. Great all around player and leader of the Warriors.

J.R. IS a legit 3 point outside shooter threat though. Decent defender too.

JR was good in the playoffs up until the Finals, when he became the 2nd or 3rd option. See how that works? The less responsibility he has on offense, the better he is. So make sure the Cavs fragile 2nd and 3rd options don't get injured in the playoffs and JR will be fine. He hit big shots against the Bulls and Hawks. I recall a game he couldn't miss against the Hawks. But don't worry, Lebron stans need scapegoating!

Apart from last year's finals, JR has been great with the Cavs the whole time. There's no reason to replace him.

In other words zero responsibility , and he might come thru this time , even though last time when the pressure was on , he crumbed.

I do like Matthews because of the WI connection , but I don't he generates enough space.... but his 'D' would be an improvement.

What about the guy they shipped to Minny ??
