View Full Version : Donald Drumpf will sweep Super Tuesday tonight!

Much to a true and sensible conservative's chagrin like Patrick Chewing. The Chewster knows that Drumpf will lead the GOP to a historic defeat in the GE, that's why he's smartly opposing Drumpf. Plus the fact that Drumpf isn't a true conservative, he's trolling the GOP and he knows this, as well as other mainstream Republicans. Drumpf, the ultimate Manchurian candidate
Drumpf winning big today is a death knell to the GOP :applause:
Democrats couldn't be happier :yaohappy:
Get 'er done Drumpf :applause:

Why are you mocking Trump's ancestors for changing their name when they came to America as legal immigrants?
It is not very "liberal" or "progressive" of you to mock someone's culture, xenophobe.
Legal immigrants built our country and made it what it is today. Legal immigration is a proud American tradition that should continue long in to the future under Donald Trump's watch.
Good job accidentally exposing your true nature as a flaming xenophobic racist. The Dems of ISH always do

Trump winning the nomination is a win-win scenario for me.
If he wins the nomination but fails to win the GE it will leave the GOP in absolute turmoil.
If he wins the GE he keeps Wall Street shill Hillary out of the White House.
Trump doing major damage to either the GOP, Hillary or both.

Nice job of stereotyping there, racist. Just because I'm Mexican American, I must have some immigration agenda, right :facepalm. I was born in the US, my dad was a US citizen, my grandma etc. I couldn't give two shits about illegal immigration, in fact, I hope the US builds a wall but you're out of your frigging skull if you think Mexico will pay for it :oldlol:
I know you're a Jew but I don't jump to conclusions and believe you're a bolshevik or that you might be an Israeli agent spying on America or on our allies :confusedshrug:

his name is not Drumpf. His ancestors felt the need to change their name in order to assimilate. Please have some respect for this difficult choice that they made.
If you truly have respect for legal immigrants, you would respect their choices.

People bringing up Trump's old family name from his legal immigrant ancestors are indirectly bringing up immigration.
Please leave the flaming antisemitism out of this.
I know that it is considered "liberal" and "progressive" to be antisemitic now, but there is no place for Judenhass on ISH.
Trump is Donald's original name.
Drumpf is his ancestors name. If he wished to be called Drumpf he would chance his name. If his ancestors wanted to be called Drumpf, they would not have changed their name, or they would have changed it back after settling down.
Please have some respect for their decisions. Thank you
Mexican Americans like yourself are great Americans who have just as much a right to be here as German Americans and Irish Americans and any other kind of Americans do.
Mexico certainly will indirectly pay for the wall. We add a small border tariff on the exportation of goods from Mexico in to the USA, just as most other nations in the world have at their border. These funds from Mexico will be used to pay for the wall.
I too believe that the Great Wall of America is a good solution. I am hopeful that it will prevent Mexican families from making dangerous decisions and getting in with coyotes who might force them in to prostitution or drug smuggling.

Why so xenophobic bro? Mocking other peoples cultures is not a liberal or progressive thing to do. Don't you claim to be a Dem?:confusedshrug:
It is 2016.
Racism and intolerance have no place in America.
It seems like there is a common theme here-the true racists and xenophobes are not Trump supporters. The biggest racist and xenophobes are the "liberal" Democrats who believe it is an insult to make fun of the name of someone's immigrant ancestors.
What you are doing is no different from people who mock Chinese and Korean names. It is xenophobic and bigoted behavior to mock legal immigrants for their name and culture.

That's not my primary consideration but yes, I would expect a businessman like Trump to get stuff done when in office. However, what I want from this election season is a complete realignment of the political landscape. That is not going to happen by voting in the same tired people from the same tired parties who are fleecing the American people whilst purporting to care about them.
The GOP controlled Congress obstruct Obama just because. Their petty, partisan antics (as seen with their stance on refusing to deliberate over Scalia's replacement on the SC) are divisive and childish. Trump's nomination will bring the party to its knees because they will realise that base populism holds more sway over the American electorate than their stupid reactionary ideologies which are not even grounded on true conservative principles.
Hillary for her part is an appalling career politician and I would like to see her bid to become President thwarted. She is a corporatist who masquerades as though she is an advocate for the downtrodden masses. Truly a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Mexico can play that game too, all our natural resources Americans use, our oil, American goods sold in Mexico (Mexico is one of the US largest consumers) will carry a tariff so that way we end up even and we don't pay for the Great American Wall

100% true. Their politicians will talk tough to salvage a little pride of the Mexican people but in the end, they will bend over for the US. 90% of Mexican success is simply being geographically located next to the US. If they werent, they'd just be another Nicaragua or Honduras.

Are Mexico's problems due to an unsustainable growth in population? It seems like it was 40 million in 1960 and has trebled in the 50 years since then.
Looking back it is a shame that the US did not annex the entire country in the 19th century. California and the rest of the former Mexican states have flourished since their incorporation into the Union States whereas Mexico is effectively a third world country.

We wanted to but the Mexicans wanted to govern themselves. If they were smarter, they could have carved themselves out a nice little Puerto Rico or American Samoa type situation, and if they had played their cards better they even could have had Mexico carved in to a few states.
Unfortunately, they chose independence, we let them have it, and the rest is history. A sad history for the Mexican people, so hopefully they turn it around.
I don't know when it turned this bad though. I know for a fact that during the time of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Mexico was killing it compared to where they are right now. I don't know when the descent in to drug fueled madness happened.
Maybe some one more familiar with Mexican history can inform us?
Mexico needs its own Donald Trump to help make it great again.

It's unfortunate because Mexican-Americans have many more opportunities than their brethren in Mexico. The poor in Mexico have two tough choices to make: stay living poor in Mexico or move to the United States and be exploited as cheap labor living under the constant fear of deportation.
If the US had been able to annex the entire country in the 1840's/50's I would wager that there would be much more prosperity and less crime and corruption in Mexico than there is now.

Missed this earlier, agreed. Either a Trump or a Guiliani former-public-prosecutor-turned-politician-type who is prepared to go hard against the drug cartels.
The Mexicans I encounter in the US are invariably hard working and many have entrepreneurial instincts what with their small businesses (restaurants, gardening, construction etc.). Clearly the political establishment in Mexico is even worse and more corrupted than in the US. They have the natural resources, the labor pool and the collective talents to be a flourishing country.

Blame the abolitionists for that: they were so paranoid about the "slave power" conspiracy that they could never get with the expansionist program. Even the Gadsden purchase had to be whittled down to satisfy their sectionalist fervour.

Yes, the Mexican people themselves are great and share many of the same exact values that Americans have. They are willing to work hard and have good entrepreneurial spirit. Their government is letting them down and has been for years. I don't know what the solution is to help them out.

It's a moot point anyway. The US isn't going to do anything as idiotic as putting tariffs on Mexican goods, especially since the Donald even admits he ain't building any walls if he becomes POTUS :yaohappy:

The delusional one here is you bro. But it's nice you have national pride to your former home land.
Mexico is never going to stop buying US goods. The nation would fall apart and the people would starve without US goods. I have the utmost respect for the Mexican people, but they don't have resolve and pride that they would starve rather than purchase US goods and pay a border tariff for them. And that's a good thing.
There is never going to be a "trade war". Mexico is not capable of going "toe-to-toe" with anyone economically, except for maybe Panama and Jamaica.
They might protest for a few weeks but ultimately Mexico will shut their mouths and pay the tariff. It's not even like asking for a border tariff for goods is an unreasonable proposition. And we are already providing socialized welfare to so many Mexican citizens so it's not like their government has any reason to be hostile towards us.
If America was not taking in so many illegal immigrants from Mexico, the Mexican state would not be able to provide food, jobs or housing for all of its people, and would collapse. Mexico owes far more to us than we owe to them.
Despite your personal hatred of America, the Mexicans and Americans are strong allies.
