View Full Version : If Durant wants to win a Ring, he should leave cheapskate OKC

Every year the OKC front office finds a way to make cost cutting moves that make the team worse to save a few dollars.

It all started in 2012 with letting James Harden sign with Houston, because they didn't wanna spend the extra money. Harden turned out to be a max player. What could've been a big 3 dynasty of Durant/Westbrook/Harden.

Then letting one of the best wing defenders/3pt shooters in Thabo Sefolosha leave and replacing him with Andre Roberson who can't shoot :oldlol:

This year, it was making a trade at the deadline to send one of the better 6th man bench scorers in DJ Augustine downgrading to Randy Foye :oldlol:

If KD wants to ever win a ring, he should leave the cheapskate franchise that is the OKC Thunder and sign with the Lakers this offseason. That's a franchise who isn't afraid of spending extra money to boost their chances of winning a championship.

PG: D'Angelo Russell | Lou Williams
SG: Brandon Ingram | Jordan Clarkson
SF: Kevin Durant | Nicolas Batum | Nick Young
PF: Julius Randle | Larry Nance Jr.
C: Hassan Whiteside | Brandon Bass | Tarid Black

Is that not a potential championship dynasty team?

If he wants to win he will stay with okc unless Westbrook leaves next year then they should head east and team up on a team like Boston and not play for crappy lakers

If the Warriors win again this year, why would they risk breaking up their nucleus when they could probably win it again with the same roster?

Thunder since All star break: 4-8. Downgrading from DJ Augustine to Randy Foye to save a few dollars. You get what you pay for :oldlol:

KD is gone

If he goes anywhere it probably won't be til next year makes most sense unless they look really bad against the Spurs or warriors. He definitely won't go to the lakers this year he wants to go to a team where he would have s chance at a ring right away, maybe if lakers have good year next year could be an option in 2017

OKC doesn't know how to spend their money wisely. They could've paid Harden back then the amount they're paying Kanter now..:facepalm

BallsOut had a massive problem when Bron went to Miami to get rings, but somehow finds it okay for Durant to go to the most successful basketball team ever to try and win rings. In fact he endorses it.
You really can't show a hypocrite that they're being a hypocrite.

True shit.

OP has a good point, until he thinks the solution is sending KD to win a championship with a bunch of scrubs that are the worst team in the West....there's not even potential.

What an idiot

What a dumb comparison :facepalm

Lebron, in his prime, unprecedentedly joined 2 other superstars in their primes in Wade and Bosh. Durant would be going to a team without a superstar player. It's not even close.

KD has so many better options in Free Agency than the Lakers. It's not even being a hater of LA, it's common sense that the Lakers are years away from being playoff contenders out West.

The unsure vibe of who's running the franchise is a negative.
Byron Scott as a head coach is a negative.
The way the roster is built shows that the team is years away from being taken seriously.

I could name five serious teams that could be in the Kevin Durant race who make more sense than the Lakers.

Uhh, Thabo was utter horseshit the year they traded him. Like, complete horseshit. The big mistake was keeping Ibaka over Harden. Look at Ibaka now, dude is getting max and it trash, complete trash.

The Lakers are not championship ready. But if Durant goes there, it will be to lead a marquee team back on the path towards there. It would do wonders for Durant's marketability and endorsements. But it's not a quick answer to his chances of winning.

I think Durant is the kind of guy that would accept such a challenge rather than take the easiest way out by joining two other superstars in their primes like Lebron when he went to Miami and then again in Cleveland.

The length on that line-up!
Randle would have the second shortest wingspan in the starting lineup
