Let's hear it ISHiots. I know people like KevinNYC are looking at property in Canada. As for me I'm starting to plan some vacations with the tax money I'll be saving. It's time to make plans because the inevitable is, well, inevitable.

I highly doubt it as well. Republicans are talking about rallying together to keep Trump out. That party is essentially split and in complete disarray at the moment.

But if so, prepare yourselves for what should be a golden age of comedy on networks and the Internet. Comedians will be paid and well fed.

The Republican party has been on life support for years. The fact that an outsider like Trump can win over the voters proves that the party is all but dead, and good riddance too. The once Grand Old Party had become a whore for lunatic fringe special interest.

But here's the thing: the Democrats are heading the same way. It may take a couple of election cycles but people are fed up with being told that the party is looking out for the little guy when they don't even try to hide the hands controlling the puppets anymore.

A lot of people are planning to vote for Hillary, not because they like her but because they are afraid of Trump. If someone like Bloomberg runs as an independent those voters might switch their support to him.

The media has completely brainwashed all of the dummies in this thread into thinking Trump will usher in some reign of terror and/or nuclear war. The irony is McCain/Obama/Bush/Clinton/Romney are much scarier people in terms of "leadership" as they are controlled by a neocon/zionist cabal that seeks to threaten Russia and spread war/overindebtedness throughout the world. Are Dresta and I the only ones who actually read on this forum?

... Proves that the GOP nominee wasn't hand picked for us.

Hillary was the Dem nominee from the beginning. They had no choice. That was it, she was hand picked by the ruling class. And they bent over and let them shove her straight up their asses.

Congrats on the Democrat party's nominee. Hope you weren't expecting anything else. :applause:

I think that Trump will be viewed by the international community exactly how Berlusconi was viewed when he was in office.

Domestically I honestly have no clue what Trump wants to do. He spouts off dumb things to get the redneck vote but we all know that its for show. Its not like the guy has been a staunch conservative his entire life. He just can't be an idiot and try to do zany things that could lose him congress.

I agree especially with the bold. The Democrats are being taken over by the regressive left, cultural marxist, PC liberalism camp, and sooner or later people will get fed up with them and Democrats will be split further. Trump's success is due to the ideology, and in no other election cycle would Trump had a chance to make it this far.

You can see the rise of the far right in Europe although in American political circles these far right would more or less be seen as centrists.

That will depend on everyone's political views.

But Trump... I still have to hear/read a pundit in Europe that doesn't basically look down on him. It's like "He's not REALLY going to win, right?"

All of these people in power are highly intelligent and educated. Even George W. Bush graduated Yale for ****s sake.

They all recognize that in order to gain power and connect with the common American, they purposefully have to dumb themselves down and act stupid.

Remember the beginning of Obama's first campaign? He was dropping knowledge bombs left and right, but voters said they didn't trust him, because he was "too smart" and they wanted some one they could "sit down and have a beer with". So Obama started simplifying his rhetoric and speaking in terms that any common basic idiot could understand.

Politicians are doing what they can to connect with the widest audience possible.

Sadly, this means they have to dumb themselves down in public appearances.

Because sadly, most people in the world are dumb. If you want to reach the biggest audience possible, you have to do whatever you can to accommodate the dummies, while at the same time, not isolating intelligent voters. It is a delicate balance to strike.

Hillary is a hardcore neo-con, her track record backs this up.

How do you feel about the fact that the Democrats created the KKK and are responsible for interning American citizens in concentration camps and forcing them to work in sweat shops?

The same way I felt 23 years ago in 8th grade history when I and everyone else learned about it. It's bad.

There wasn't anything special about interment camps at the time. They were used as a tool of warfare by most developed nations in the world, and as "normal" for the period as today's abject refugee camps for ours.

(Extermination camps however were a different story that set murderous regimes like the nazis apart)

Of course in retrospect it looks bad, as our refugee camps will in the future.

But most importantly... it was world war two.

Part of the problem today is that republicans are acting as though we're in the middle of world war two, when we're not.

We overreact to any and everything today because we can't remember how near apocalyptic those times actually were.
Iraq/Syria probably come closest to what it must have been like... but that situation hasn't engulfed the entire world in quite the same way.

DukeDelonte13 > I'd love for that to be the case, but Mussolini was actually respected by a lot of foreign leaders, including Churchill and Roosevelt, at least in the beginning until his alliance with Hitler played out in all its consequences.

Similar to a Putin, Modi, Xi or Erdogan today, he had no shortage of powerful admirers.

To get a better sense of how Trump is viewed in the rest of the world, think of how you see Kim Jong-Un. You have to understand the clownish, grotesque aspect of it... The unreality of thinking a country would actually opt to elect this cartoon villain as their leader.

At the same time, Trump was always seen as a more probable presidential candidate outside of the United States, because he conforms to the worst stereotypes the world has about the country. In Europe, people have been preparing for a Trump presidency for a long time now. They're way past the disbelief stage.
