AUSTIN - An Austin couple who stopped to pick up a meal at an IHOP restaurant early Monday said they will never go to another IHOP after the message they saw on their receipt.
Arainia Brown and her boyfriend Rolman Sparkman were traveling back to Austin and decided to grab a to-go order from the IHOP at I-35 and Cesar Chavez around 3 a.m. Monday. When Brown saw her receipt, she immediately became upset.
"This is not a joke," said Sparkman. "It's very serious and it hurt a lot of people's feelings."
Brown and Sparkmen were shocked to see "BLACK PPL" typed at the top of their receipt. Two words that induced a range of emotions.
"I feel upset, I'm sad, I'm angry. Like this, it makes no sense," said Brown.
Adding insult to injury, Brown said the server was a young Black man.
I tried to think if I would be offended if someone called me a white person but... I can't think of an example of when I actually might. Especially if a white person called me a white person. Hell, even if a black person called me a white person, I can't argue with the obvious.
Statement from the server:
So this is Dwayne W from the viral IHOP incident. All I want to say is, next Tuesday for National Pancake Day, and any other time as well, go to IHOP and get a delicious meal.
‘A slip up by me in a rush to get to-go orders to guests should not be held against an entire establishment.I forgot to get a name for the two couples' order. I apologize if I offended anyone because that wasn’t my intention.’

From what I've seen this is common for servers. My ex got her receipt back and it had "Asian scarf" on it.
And yes, she was Asian and indeed....wearing a scarf. We thought it was funny.

That is an impressive improvement, but it pales in comparison to what has happened since: in 2014, per capita GDP was $55,185, i.e., almost exactly double what it was in 1974. In terms of economic output, the country is twice as rich per person now as it was then.
Where has all this money gone? The answer ought to shock anyone who cares about either economic opportunity or increasing inequality. The average household income of the bottom 50% of American households was $25,475 in 1974, and $26,520 in 2014. In other words, half the population has gotten essentially none of the extra $10 trillion dollars of national wealth that the American economy has generated over the past forty years.

Usually they use numbers associated with orders or tables. :confusedshrug:
I've never had a description of me used on a receipt.

usually its something they have to memmorize or is in their computer system if it has a layout i think.
it'd be tacky as fukk to put a number displayed on every table tho.

Shack is right. Most legit restaurants have a number system. It isn't always on the table (though sometimes it is on the edge), but usually numbered according to their positions (1 is closest to kitchen, then 2, then 3, and so on).

I still don't see what the big deal is. I a person wrote down Indian on my receipt, I sure AF wouldn't be offended. The point is, people are getting offended over and making a bit freaking deal over nothing. People need to harden up a bit not always be so PC.

In that way both the minorities and society a very paradox - not saying females are a minority, but historically speaking they were treated like one for thousands of years.

True. But feminists especially want equal results not equal treatment. For example, joining front line combat units. Females (the outspoken ones) want to be allowed to join, but they want the requirements to be lowered, or be held to a different standard all together.
That's why you'll always hear me say 'women can be join combat units when women run the same PFT as males do'. But they never will, because there is a difference and everyone knows it. If there was no difference, there wouldn't be two different PFT's.

Well I only played league twice in my life, but when we did the jerseys usually had numbers. We always introduce ourselves in pickup games, though. The court I usually play in summer has its core players anyway.
