View Full Version : Never seen a player besides Durant (and Kobe) make more low IQ plays late game

Absolutely terrible.. this guy is what, in his tenth season? And he doesn't understand basic things, like when you get a new shot clock you pull it back out, especially when your lead is slimming down?
Instead of making TO's, taking dumb 3's, etc.?
I give, Westbrook > Durant

He's obviously lost confidence and athleticism with his injuries but let's not act like he's isn't still a top 5 player.

Westbrook is one of the dumbest players down the stretch.

If the criteria is turnovers and dumb 3's then LeBron has to be on that list somewhere

LeBron will always pull it back out, and not immediately run into trouble after an offensive rebound, or take a dumb 3 with 22 secs on the shot clock in a one possession game with 2 something mins left to play..

Well it depends how deep we get into it, maybe not a one possession game. But I recall quite a few costly turnovers or questionable 3s during say the last 5 minutes of a close game in last years playoffs alone

No doubt he has TO's, but the TO's are created differently... it just all looked very poor.
Cmon, Bron is one of the more conscious and calm people down the stretch, as far as decision making goes, and not forcing things.

Ehh he's made plays down the stretch where I've thought wtf is he doing, also if he has the ball behind the arc, sizeups the defender then jacks a terrible 3 that doesn't count because it wasn't 2 seconds in the shot clock? Cause he does that
I mean I don't disagree, LeBron is usually great in the closing period, but makes the same stupid plays as Kobe or Durant, and then there loads of games where Kobe and Durant are great down the stretch

Never seen OP make a proper argument, always on the wrong side, probably comes with the territory of being a Bron stan.
3 point differential or less in 4th quarters:
Durant (26 Games): FG: 50% 3pt: 43% Ast: 0.2 TO: 0.0 PTS: 3.2
Westbrook(30 Games): FG: 34% 3pt: 20% Ast: 0.3 TO: 0.4 PTS: 1.8
LeBron(20 Games): FG: 43% 3pt: 12% Ast: 0.5 TO: 0.3 PTS: 2.9
Couple that with all the games that Durant has closed out this season, I can only conclude that OP is a ***.

Isn't 5-47 his stat for the final 5 seconds?
...
And virtually nobody has decent final 5 second marks?

But I don't care to bring that stat up, its relatively useless, since its one of the few clutch stats Kobe marks seemed to have found joy in, you hang onto it by every last ball, and only, because Kobe's percentage in those moments hasn't been mentioned yet....
I guess you could call this me schooling you.
I guess all I'll have to add, would be:

How about last? Check that for me, come back with the results...

TBF, OP said this a couple of weeks ago:
in fact, LeBron James is not just having a decent shooting season from mid-range, he's also continuing the trend of being a much better mid-ranger shooter than Dwyane Wade, who actually is one of the more terrible shooters in the NBA (he needs to get himself a good shooting coach).
http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=395424
LeBron and Wade are virtually shooting the exact same % from midrange. 37.1% from LeBron and 37.5% from Wade. Infant, LeBron is shooting much worse than Wade on jumpers. 34.5%, compared to Wade's 36.9%.
Dude got called out a ton of times for posting on ISH 24/7 and is basically sticking to his alts now.

Nope. Steph Curry. 7.3 PPG and LeBron's at 7.2. Steph is doing it on 70%+ TS though. Harden is scoring more in the 4th as well.
In fact, LeBron and KD are basically tied, when it comes to clutch stats. Only difference is that KD is doing it on better percentages.

That's ~ 28%. 5-47 is ~ 11%.
OT. I've seen Lebron fumble the ball in two seperate game 6s in the '13 playoffs late into the game. He's surely not calm when he gets pressured, quite the opposite.

Did AW just ether himself? :biggums:
Durant takes dumb shots at the end. But how the hell can you bring up that as a reason to say Westbrook is better? :oldlol: Westbrook took literally possibly the dumbest shot at the end of a close game I've ever seen yesterday.
Shit, even Lebron routinely takes dumb shots at the end of games, so bringing him up doesn't make much sense either. Dumb isolation and/or jump shots at the end of close games today seems to be the norm. Steph is probably the only one who's justified to do that.
