A buddy comedy didn't spend a lot of time or effort focusing on making the ghosts look real. Apparently they just didn't talk to enough real ghosts when researching this to get the look perfect. BRB, writing to my congressman right now.

They went all out with Sleeping Beauty making the most beautiful and well animated film ever and after all that work and money it bombed hard in the box office. Then to make up for it, Disney had to start turning out crappy films with re-used animation like the Aristocats to make up for it.

Littler Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Lion King have way lower quality of animation than Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, but they made way more money.


Disney is not going to invest so much money and time to create a beautiful hand animated film when they can do shitty animation for a quarter of the cost and get twice as much money.



Even Ghibli has had to stop making films.

Cartoon Saloon is the only decent studio doing innovative hand drawn animation, and their films make hardly any money, so it takes 5-6 years between each film for them to raise funding.


Hand drawn animation is awesome but it makes no sense business wise when you can 3D animate quicker and cheaper and make more from it.
