I missed tonight's GOP debate because of work.

I heard it was another comedic shit show so I was looking in YouTube for some highlights and saw a few moments of previous debates and one of them was the one where Rubio accused Cruz of not knowing Spanish and Cruz firing back at Rubio in Spanish.

Reading some comments one stuck out, a Trump supporter wrote that Trump not knowing Spanish was one more reason to vote for him...and incredibly it had way too many upvotes :facepalm

Two things, only in America is being bilingul somehow a bad thing and it begs the question. Do Trump supporters know that Spanish is as European as English, German, French, Dutch, Italian etc? I mean it is, true story, look it up.

We all know the Donald's supporters aren't exactly known for their collective intellect but come on now :lol

Two things, only in America is being bilingula somehow a bad thing and seriously, do Trump supporters know that Spanish is as European as English, German, French, Dutch, Italian etc? True story.

Just checking because the Donald's supporters aren't exactly known for their collective intellect :lol
Spanish is a European language.

The worst European language.

The Spanish people committed too many atrocities in the world. Trump supporters are showing respect to the Inca and Aztecs and Jews killed in the Inquisition by refusing to acknowledge Spain.

I encourage you to do the same, if you are a true Mexican.

This doesn't make any sense. Who said Spanish wasn't a European language? English is the language of America, and the proliferation of Spanish in places like Florida is becoming absurd. You don't even need to speak english to get a drivers license in here :lol--that is a joke.

Being bilingual is great; being able to get away without speaking the official language of the nation is not.

Exactly. If you can't even take the time to learn the language of the country you're illegally living and illegally working in, you don't deserve to live in that country.

What does the continent it originates from have to do with anything?

What if it didn't originate from Europe? What if it originated from Africa or Asia? What point are you making?

Yeah, but there is in Florida :lol . And in most of the States--it actually tends to be the states without large non-english speaking populations that haven't taken the effort the adopt English as their official language. Although, de facto, English is the official language, as it is what all law, legislation and legal proceedings are conducted in.

Idiotic strawman you build here. Spanish is as European as English but it's clearly not as 'American' as English. All of the founding documents of 'America' are in English you pleb. And wow! it's still the primary language here.

America is a continent :confusedshrug:

More people speak Spanish than English in the Americas :confusedshrug:

America is from Canada all the way down to Argentina :confusedshrug:

Are you really going to pretend that you don't know whether he's referring to "the Americas" or "the United States of America"? Why are you wasting everybody's time with this?
