No chance in hell for Bernie ever to be VP even before you get into politics or personality. You wouldn't pick a 74 year old from a very small New England state. It just wouldn't help you.
Obama as a younger candidate could pick a Biden and get balance from it. Clinton wouldn't get an advantage.
More importantly, Bernie only joined the Democratic Party last year.

Bernie probably would beat the Republicans, but even with the general election polls like they are now, he would not be a general election candidate than Clinton. In fact, there are a Republican super-pacs running pro-Bernie ads against Clinton because they would prefer to face him in the general. The larges population doesn't know that much about him yet and if he became the nominee they would unload on him.
They are going to want to unload on Clinton too, but it would be old news with most of the country already having made up their minds. They would get to define Bernie.

The craziest thing about the Dem primaries/caucuses has been Hillary outright massacring Bern with the Black vote in the South. Sanders easily wins the majority White States in the North/East. I know the Clintons have long-standing ties with Southern States like SC, Arkansas, etc but she murked him like 86-14 in one poll. :biggums:

They can be successful and still be committing a crime. This isn't about morality, it's about simple law. You can be pro gun but recognize that if you have a 30 round magazine in New York State that makes you a criminal, even if you never shoot with it. If it's against the law then by definition you are breaking the law by using it and therefore acting criminal.

And the same 30 round magazine in let's say, Texas, doesn't make you a criminal? Geographical lines shouldn't exist when it comes to both drugs on you and guns. It's a universal subject. JUST like the legal age for sex should very well be at one fixed age entirely. States individually shouldn't have different laws. I've always been against that.

She did not.
She polled well against Obama among black voters in 2007. She did not win the black vote in 2008. Once Obama proved himself to be a viable candidate, the black vote overwhelmingly shifted to Obama. Obama had to show he was the real deal and had a chance of winning before black voters shifted.

Can someone explain to me what is racist about the justice system? Serious questions, do people think judges and jury's are just composed of racist people, or are they saying it's more of an economic thing and when people can't afford good lawyers they don't get a fair shot? Also, do people think that black people are going to jail for crimes that they never committed at a high rate, or that white people are getting off on crimes that they did commit. And if it's the latter, then shouldn't the argument be that we need more white people in jail?

I completely agree with you on the gun issue since it is a constitutional right. And the other issues I think there should be more consistency, and I personally don't think people should go to jail for drug use, but there are a lot of laws that I don't agree with, that doesn't make breaking those laws legal though.

i think the issue is that blacks are serving more time for the same crime and are being incarcerated at a higher rate.
So the real issue isn't that there are too many people in jail, it's that we need more white boys in jail.
If you commit a crime that has a sentence of 3 years and you get sentenced to 3 years, and someone else commits the same crime and gets sentenced to 1 year, I get that that is a problem, but it's still no ones fault but your own that you are in jail for 3 years.

I also want to come out and say I actually feel less safe knowing I'm in a legal state of guns. I won't completely agree whether people have the right to bare arms right now, but I feel like people are more prone to react and more prone to using their armed capabilities during a time of duress and dramatical trauma.

I live in NY.. I actually would rather feel unsafe walking down a block knowing someone approaching may have a gun or a knife compared to walking down a block knowing majority of the people have guns.
When we're thinking about people owning guns for protection, we're thinking using those who bare arms to serve as police themselves and stop crimes. That's the bigger issue. We shouldn't have to depend on civilians in our community to help US feel safe. That's their job. The issue is above and beyond our reach and we're failing to realize that.

I hear ya, and that all does make sense for where you are. And where I grew up I would have felt the same way. But where I live now is more rural, at night the local police doesn't have anyone on so the entire COUNTY is covered by 2 State Troopers, so if you call 911 it could be 30-60 minutes before a single officer arrives at your house.

If it's a serious crime I want people to serve their time regardless of color.
If it's for 'drug possession' then none of them should be in jail at all IMO, but that whole issue has become more a talking point than reality.

And that's why owning guns and baring arms makes sense. I won't lie, that sounds very convincing. There's times I want to personally own one because of how the world is operating the past several years with mass shootings, having one in your home in case a break in. Then you think about the backfire this can lead too even just defending yourself.
Like I said.. I'm not going to completely support or disown the gun laws, because I'm being more aggressive as a person walking down the streets of NY ready and always prepared. Whenever someone walks towards me, I'm always on my senses and ready to defend myself. Whenever I'm walking down a street at night, I'm logical about who's around me and behind me every few minutes.
It's this paranoia we have to deal with as people. When I'm walking with family, my senses are magnified because you need to protect them before yourself.
Different states train you psychologically by nature. There is no real answer.

Hillary is right. "Making America great again" is bs. We're great as a country. We just aren't whole. We need to be more progressive as a country. There's things we all agree and disagree on. That's perspective.. But we've lost our integrity for decades and we need to stand united, regardless of what party we support.
With that said, Draz for ish president.

Berns had a great night (along with winning Maine comfortably on the low). But I don't think it'll be enough to win Michigan on Tuesday and that's a big one.
If Obama is a black Muslim, why can't we have a sub 500k net worth Jew?

This isn't to compare trump to obama as a candidate or person, but the 'make america great again' thing reminds me so much of 'hope and change'.
If bernie was 10 years younger he'd have this in the bag. His age is the only issue honestly.
"My good friend, secretary Clinton"
My man still wants that VP spot.
Should of gotten Anderson to ask the Republicans how they feel about gay rights

Haha, they did ask about the gay marriage issue in 2 of the debates, at least some of the candidates

Yah i know, but Anderson asking as a gay man himself would be hella awkward

Bernie has no chance even if he was 40 and looked like Brad Pitt.
He keeps it too real and does not play the politics game enough. Hillary is the opposite. That is why she is winning in a dominant fashion.

There are no "gay rights" only individual rights. Everybody has all the exact same individual rights. We don't do rights by which group you are in.

Bernie said that his fathers side of the family was completely wiped out during the Holocaust, but earlier he said that he can't begin to know the struggle of minorities in the U.S.
Is it just me or is having your entire extended family killed during a genocide pretty bad.

To Social Justice Bigots, Jews don't count as minorities, despite being the most persecuted minority in human history.
To Social Justice Bigots, we need to forget about the Holocaust and support Hamas, because it's 2016.

Hillary cannot be President.
She wants to go after the gun companies forcing them to close down factories here in the United States. That is as Un-American as it gets. If you're going to run on a platform of bringing more jobs to the Middle Class, then you cannot have it both ways by shutting down plants and manufacturers just because you want to shut down the 2nd amendment.

Liability on gun manufacturers? Are they supposed to make guns that don't hurt people?
Yeah, I don't understand that whole argument from Hillary.. Put it a different way. Lets say I buy a badass BMW and do reckless driving while speeding. I kill a bunch of people in a massive car accident and get out fine myself. Should BMW be held liable for me breaking the law? Same thing applies here in this situation.

If it's a serious crime I want people to serve their time regardless of color.
If it's for 'drug possession' then none of them should be in jail at all IMO, but that whole issue has become more a talking point than reality.
Yeah, it is not drastic. Only 14% of the prisoners are due to drug offenses. I guess it is still something. It would save money for sure. Drug offenders don't need to be thrown in jail. Save that for the drug traffickers and drug dealers.
[QUOTE]
According to the Bureau of Prisons, there are 207,847 people incarcerated in federal prisons. Roughly half (48.6 percent) are in for drug offenses. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, there are 1,358,875 people in state prisons. Of them, 16 percent have a drug crime as their most serious offense. There were also 744,600 inmates in county and city jails. (The BOP data is current as of July 16. From BJS, the latest jail statistics are from midyear 2014, and the latest prison statistics from year-end 2013.) That

Also a gay person in 2016 can't be fired just for being gay?

Never understood why Democrats want to keep American citizens from owning guns.
I mean, if you don't want to own a gun, then don't. I don't want to scramble a fetus around with a coat hanger and suck it out with my Dyson vacuum, so I don't. I don't like that people do, but it is what it is.
Why is that so hard?
The prospect that big government knows whats better for me than I do speaks volumes about the party's end goal. You see the same behavior on this board, people who don't like anything want it banned. You see it on college campuses all over the country.
Don't like it? Ban it.

By the government?Yes, you could certainly have been fired by the government for being gay since 1868. Remember don't ask, don't tell?
Currently the are a couple dozen states that do not prohibit you from being fired if you are gay. That includes cops, fireman, legislative workers, etc. There's a guy who is suing The Library of Congress because he got fired after liking a facebook page called Two Dads.

And there's a fireman in Atlanta who was fired for writing a book after he was given permission from the department.
Shit happens.
If a company wants to fire you, there's no law that will protect you.
