Who else is gonna be pre-ordering this? Looks like the best multiplayer shooter since TF2.

Looks good.

Battleborn is another one that looks similar in terms of game design and visuals in terms of characters and the general bright colour palette. I'm not sure if it is a shooter or RPG though. Haven't really looked into it at all apart from noticing the similar look to Overwatch.

I was able to play it during one of the beta test weekends, it looks and feels spectacular. There were some balancing issues but that's to be expected with such a large and diverse number of characters.

Currently playing it on my friends closed beta account. This closed beta feels like the final game already. The lag compensation is insane, I'm playing on American servers and don't feel that much lag at all. All the heroes have their uses and every one of them is fun to play.

For TF2 players, there are some definite similarities between certain TF2 classes and Overwatch characters (though the Overwatch characters generally bring more to the table, they feel the same way as the TF2 classes).

Pharah = Soldier
Junkrat = Demo
Mercy = Medic
Tracer = Scout
Widowmaker = Sniper

There are characters comparable to the Engineer but I haven't played them. Ditto for Heavy.

Not at launch. I don't know if they're planning to allow for cross platform play but imo PC players would just stomp if they did.

I played the week long open beta, loved it! Pre-Ordered it.

It's a nice enjoyable game. Wasn't sure how i felt about the ability to change heroes mid way through a fight, but now i like it being able to switch depending upon what the situation needs

There is a slight tradeoff with ultimate ability bar reseting when switching hero, which makes it perfect imo.

I played the beta but it was quite boring to me. I had to force myself to play it. And I keep hearing it's the exact same game from beta so I definitely don't think it's worth 60.

Most people don't like it cause of the 'cartoonish' art but besides that this game is on par with CSGO as the top actual competitive FPS out there.

the draw for me is thats its not your standard K/D game. it's more strategy based, objective capturing. which has always been my preference. and the fact that every character has someone who can hard counter them; it makes for some well thought out matches.

Pharah and Symmetra have been my most used so far. I'll also go Mercy/Lucio if there's a healer needed. Kinda want to get better with Tracer, good Tracers are a nightmare to play against.

I was driving a team nuts with her one game just playing the way you said. Utterly ridiculous how long you can stay alive with her.

The people that know how to play with Tracer are ridiculous too. Some of the combo kills they pull off with her, and that time travel shit is amazing.

i got a solid group of 5 friends i play with, which makes this already super fun game worlds better. so ill usually pick what character is needed at the moment. but my favorites would be mei (for both point and payload maps), junkrat (once you get good with his remote mind, hes pretty devastating), lucio/mercy (though im starting to use zenyatta a lot more. SUPER FUN) and love being 76 as an offensive player and a makeshift healer on payload maps.

currently level 15. which for me is pretty damn high considering its only been out a week.

what enemy match ups do you guys hate facing? im starting to see a lot of double bastions, or bastion/trobjorn with double reinhardts, a healer and mei. pretty annoying composition if youre soloing and have teammates who try to break it on their own

it's thats fun.

it's off season right now, so theres no competitve play available, just no hero limit quick play (sigh). but thats where youre going to have to start, regardless. once youre lvl 25 you can hop into ranked matches.

but this is a game the requires teamwork and communication. so its best to have a group to play with or pray that the randoms on your team use mics. if not, the game can get frustrating at times.
