Cruz is not a bigot. He doesn't agree with sharing bathrooms and clothes and all that nonsense. No common sense person should agree to be sharing bathrooms with the opposite sex.

Doesn't make him any less qualified to be President if he shares that opinion.
Privately he may have a liberal attitude towards LGBT. But do you think he is going to publicly embrace Jenner's support? I don't believe he will because he wouldn't want to incite social conservatives against him. He's already got an uphill battle to catch Trump. If they turned on him even a little bit he'd be hopeless.

At this point, with Trump stealing a lot of Democratic votes in his favor, Cruz needs all the votes he can get. Seeing as how Evangelicals have abandoned Cruz apparently, why not show that Republicans are not these bigoted monsters and show that we can have a broader reach into the LGBT community. Cruz is running as anti-politician, but he's still a politician. This could only help him.

That's a reason but do you think he is actually going to acknowledge Jenner, make her a campaign surrogate, etc? I don't see any of the main republican candidates openly seeking LGBT support any time soon.
